My daughter and I will be marching in a local parade this weekend and registering voters afterwards. We were contacted by the Obama campaign and encouraged to make homemade signs. The mantra seems to be "homemade is best!"

It turned out to be lots of fun to create our own posters and I thought I'd share the craft idea with other parents. Pictures below the fold!

A few years ago my great-grandmother (at the time in her 80's) was present at a discussion of just how severe the upcoming Winter was going to be based on caterpillars, tree bark, and the portents of early snows. Listening calmly to all the predictions she finally nodded her head and said, "Yup. Come Spring, we'll know."

I was inspired by BlueMama's diary about feeding the volunteers at an Obama office to send pizza to the campaign office in Vincennes, IN. Why Vincennes? I did a search on Indiana cities by population and cross-referenced it with the list of Indiana cities with Obama campaign offices. Since my finances are tight I chose the smallest city, hoping they had a small horde of volunteers.
