"He's as dumb as a stump."
Sun May 11, 2008 at 09:03:29 AM PDT
Well I have to say I agree with this statement. That's because I know who the 'he' is that's being referred to. And I know who the quote is attributed to as well.

Bill Moyers on Democracy Now
Wed May 07, 2008 at 10:39:57 PM PDT
I just caught the end of Amy Goodman's interview of Bill Moyers on Democracy Now. I happened to pick it up when he was discussing media & politics. Spot on, I would say.
AMY GOODMAN: Why do you think these candidates, the leading candidates of the Democratic supposedly opposition party, do not call for an immediate end to the war, do not call for single-payer healthcare?
BILL MOYERS: Because the media doesn’t allow complicated thought to be articulated in ways that enlighten instead of misinform people.

Can I get an amen, brother?

A Slaughter in Yellowstone
Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 07:04:04 PM PDT
I happened to be checking over at Crooks & Liars & read a reposted (from CNN) article about the slaughtering of bison in and around Yellowstone National Park. Why did this peak my interest? Well the first reason is the obvious, the second is that I learned about this practice of shooting bison when I lived in Montana 15+ years ago.

Meet Ms. Where is your flag pin
Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 10:18:26 PM PDT
Update: Humble apology...this story was just posted.
I picked this up on TPM. It appears that our lady of the flag pin was mentioned in a NY Times.com article on April 4th quoting her reason for not wanting to vote for Obama. Yup, you guessed it. It's all about the pin, not race.

Freep this ABC Poll
Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 12:57:56 PM PDT
and website. If you go here:
http://abcnews.go.com/...
you will find their poll for who won the debate. If only we could vote on the moderators performance...
If they can put up headlines like "Obama pressed after rough debate" and a picture of Elizabeth Hasselbeck (the view republican) telling us that Hillary won...well we can do our best to vote them off the internet with our traffic.
Go...before they take it down
Let me be very clear about this

When the mealy mouth media spends the first third of the debate asking asinine questions about Avery, Rev Wright, Bosnia, Bittergunchurchgate...
MSM does not mean mainstream media
Mon Apr 14, 2008 at 11:02:35 PM PDT
So many of us are sick and tired of our current media giants being labeled the MSM. There's simply nothing mainstream about them. They pander, slander, and are about as unbiased in their news coverage as we would be telling people about our children.
OK, I am officially disgusted
Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 08:19:41 AM PDT
I know at least one other diary, that I couldn't locate, was presented on this subject before but at the rate I am receiving these types of emails about Barack, I am truly worried AND disgusted.
GOOD NEWS for a change...

The Art of Cronyism
Tue Mar 27, 2007 at 12:50:01 PM PDT
By now you've heard that the head of the Smithsonian, Lawrence Small, was yesterday forced to resign (my emphasis).
What you may not know is that the former, late, Chief Justice Rehnquist was chair of the Board of Regents that put Small in his position in 2000. As is the case with: multiple choice, you pick... (almost all), (many), (too many to count), (every friggin one) of the Republic candidates elevated to high positions, his credentials and history are suspect.
Moschella...the hatchet man

Pick yourself up off of the floor for a show recap & to see what her legions on the Oprah MBoards thought about it.
We're Up!
Thu Nov 02, 2006 at 10:09:12 PM PDT
...just now listening to the local news in Boise; on the most conservative of the TV Stations, and we're up. In the 1st District, Democrat Grant leads (fricken compassionless) Sali by 5% with 25% (phew, pretty high but not bad news, necessarily) undecided.
For Governor, Democrat Brady is leading Otter by 4% with 20% undecided.

We can't let osama win
Fri Sep 29, 2006 at 03:37:17 AM PDT
Partial text of osama speech, November 1, 2004
All that we have mentioned has made it easy for us to provoke and bait this administration. All that we have to do is to send two mujahidin to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al-Qaida, in order to make the generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic, and political losses without their achieving for it anything of note other than some benefits for their private companies.
We're going to continue throwing their own words back at them
Sat Aug 12, 2006 at 10:43:37 AM PDT
Taking a page from Cheney's playbook wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for the Dems as we approach the interim elections and beyond. And since be believes that it is quite effective to "keep throwing their words back at them", it would behoove us to do the same.
November 16, 2005
Text of Remarks By Vice President Dick Cheney (As prepared for delivery)
And the suggestion that's been made by some U.S. senators that the President of the United States or any member of this Administration purposely misled the American people on pre-war intelligence is one of the most dishonest and reprehensible charges ever aired in this city.
The President and I cannot prevent certain politicians from losing their memory, or their backbone - but we're not going to sit by and let them rewrite history.
We're going to continue throwing their own words back at them. snip
Playbook page #32. Use the word 'reprehensible' when referring to those that call us out on our lies; because calling them liars, well, would be a lie...not that there's anything wrong with telling lies, mind you, when the end justifies the means.
