Focusing on Vice President

Thu Sep 04, 2008 at 06:36:01 AM PDT

How does the VP candidate create more of a buzz than the Presidential candidate?  Smoke and mirrors is all it is.  For starters all of the attention a vice presidential pick is receiving is perplexing to me.  I’ve got so much to say but I’ll just try not to.  Their convention makes the VP candidate the star.  How will, when McCain speaks, ... or will he even be speaking?... follow the Palin act?  Perhaps this VP candidate should trade places with the P candidate.    They love her.  They adore her.  They gush over her.  TV pundits like Karl Rove and Bill O’Reilley change the rules for her (see last night’s edition of the Daily Show).

Can this Billion Dollars to Georgia be Stopped?

Wed Sep 03, 2008 at 06:45:17 AM PDT

BAKU, Azerbaijan — The Bush administration plans to announce a $1 billion package of aid to help rebuild Georgia after its rout by Russian forces last month, an administration official said on Wednesday, as Vice President Dick Cheney arrived in the region to signal support for Georgia and other countries neighboring Russia.

The aid — along with Mr. Cheney’s visit — are sure to increase tensions with Russia, whose leaders have accused the United States of stoking the conflict with Georgia over its two separatist regions, by providing weapons and training to the Georgians. President Dmitri A. Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir V. Putin have also complained that humanitarian supplies delivered by the American Navy and Air Force since Russian forces routed Georgian forces and occupied parts of the country were a disguise for delivering new weapons.

Call it my personal catharsis.

There is something rotten in Denmark.  Something is not computing.  Why is Obama campaigning still against Hillary and McCain?  Democratic party, why are you letting this occur?

Set the Scene and Action!

Wed Aug 13, 2008 at 06:49:39 AM PDT

On the opening night of the Olympics, which was a very nice show, I watched our president in the audience with his wife.  I saw him and Putin in conversation where body posture showed Putin leaning more toward Bush, because I think 2 seats seperated them.  They seemed to be talking.  It seemed cordial enough.  But maybe that’s just some poker face thing politicians do.  I don’t know what was said.

Invested Interest

Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 06:05:53 AM PDT

Just more evidence that the top echelons don't like working hard for the money.  they take and eat their own.  They scheme in their minds.  But reading the article below, if the action can be pinpointed, then why can't they pinpoint the actors?

This is criminal, and if I'm not mistaken, American taxapyer money went into this bailout.  Somehow JP Morgan reaped in this benefit, by obliging to guide the Bear Stearn collision and clean up the potential mess.  I still wonder why Bear couldn't just fail.

Paulson won't stay.  Hooray!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said in an interview aired on Sunday he had no interest in staying in his post beyond January when a new administration takes office.

"I look forward to doing other things next year," Paulson said on NBC television's "Meet the Press" program. The interview was taped on Saturday in China.

"I'm going to run right up until the end," he said. "I'm focused on getting everything done I can get done between now and January 19th."

In March, Paulson proposed overhauling the U.S. financial regulatory system and giving more powers to the Federal Reserve in the wake of the financial market upheaval that exposed gaping holes in oversight.

Last month, he took heat from fellow Republicans in Congress who said his plan to backstop mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was akin to socialism because shareholders reaped the profits in good times but the government was on the hook for losses when things went bad.

Clinton supporters plan parade for Denver
The die-hards still hoping for some kind of miracle that results in Hillary Clinton becoming the Democratic nominee for president aren't going away just yet. In fact, they'll be making their presence very much known at the Democratic National Convention in Denver later this month.

Bill Clinton is not a Racist (he's an elitist)

Mon Aug 04, 2008 at 03:54:48 PM PDT

He's also a politician who played with one of the pawns in the game.  He played the racism pawn, even though he knew racism wasn't true.  He seems to regret the stain left behind.

It would have been okay had Hillary won.  They would have worked their damndest after the fact to get that stain expunged.  But they lost, and now he's assessing the cost.

It's About Me

Fri Aug 01, 2008 at 09:12:17 AM PDT

I would like our next president to 1) get a handle on the economy, 2) stabilize and end the wars, 3) Revamp our education system to meet the needs of the 21st century, with a focus on the needs of the teachers and the students, 4)To review current trade policies and the way everyday America has been negatively impacted and devise a way to better our position in the world’s economic scene, 5) Provide Universal healthcare and eliminate HMO’s, 6) To review the laws (every one) placed during the Bush II term and repeal, refine or keep according to prudence, always keeping in mind the will of the American people, 7) Aggressively explore alternative energy options, and 8) Restore America to her rightful place in the world, as a leader.

Who's Running this Country

Thu Jul 24, 2008 at 05:07:31 AM PDT

A co-worker of mine, after reading several stories passed off as news on various sites on the internet, in a raised voice of exasperation said, "Man who's running this country."

I don't know which story set him off, the foreclosure epedemic, young actors Heidi and Spencer going to Iraq, (and I added, us having to know about it), all of the people losing their jobs at Wachovia, probably that video with our current president being a comedian on a drunken tirade. I don't know which story set him off.

Then he added as a possibility, "Is it speculation or manipulaton?" Like these are the two 'people' who were running our nation.

American Tax Payers Are You Asleep?

Wed Jul 23, 2008 at 06:20:03 AM PDT

Are you watching how your tax dollars are being used by the Federal government.  Do you think it's furthering the cause of the wonderful concept of "GLOBALIZATION", and if so what is a normal everyday  American citizen's role in globalization?  To finance it?

FOCUS ALL THINGS MIDDLE EAST AT OUR PERIL

Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 08:10:04 AM PDT

This is America.  We've got some real problems right here in America.  This morning Wachovia Bank announces 9 bln loss and the layoff from btw 6000 and 11000 employees.  Where are they gonna go?  Those two GSE's Freddie and Fannie, Mr. Paulson is calling on the American people to bail them out to the tune of 25bln.  I read in the news this morning that there is 1.3 trillion in foreign debt tied up in these two entities, primarily Russia and China.  Supposedly, 1 in ten mortgages is foreign owned. Can't get a figure on the total debt yet, think its between 3-5 trillion.

And finally, a headline reads, that  GE is teaming up with Ahbu Dhabi investors to go and hunt out gems of opportunity in the Middle East.

Messing with Context?

Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 08:19:51 AM PDT

Why are CNN and many other media outlets, choosing VP mates for Barack Obama, interviewing ‘their potential target candidate’ only to find out that that person wasn’t interested, OR WAS,  then proceed to write something strong about what they created, tested and discovered (their little experiment),  then throw that possibility out there to the masses for poll purposes.  Yet all the while making it seem as if these potential candidates they choose are someone Barack Obama would choose.

It is amazing, how the officials who are doing the dirt in this country, somehow get overlooked, and in their place those of a more innocent nature are maligned publicly.
