Cops Kill Another Dog
Tue Aug 19, 2008 at 07:07:25 PM PDT
I'm surprised to see this hasn't been diaried since the story broke last night. Or at least I haven't been able to find another diary (sorry if I missed it.)
Anyway, something like two weeks ago we talked a lot about the cops who smashed into some family's house (on a marijuana bust, no less!) and proceeded to terrorize the people... including murdering their two dogs.
Well, it's happened again...
Hey, let's terrorize our kids today! Might be a lot of fun!
Thu Jun 12, 2008 at 09:54:44 PM PDT
This is sick!
As if the D.A.R.E program -- where kids are taught the fine art of narcing on their parents -- wasn't bad enough. As if having drug raids in high schools -- where kids are thrown to the floor with guns pointed at their heads, as their lockers are searched -- wasn't bad enough.
Now there's this...
Keith Olbermann tells Democrats in Congress they're spineless?
Tue Jun 10, 2008 at 06:17:27 PM PDT
I'm not 100% certain that's what he was doing, but it's how I interpretted it.
On a day that should have seen massive news coverage of the impeachment resolution introduced by Dennis Kucinich (and co-sponsored by Bob Wexler), we've seen virtually nothing in the MSM. As Keith said ... crickets.
Apparently the vast majority of Democrats are now "running away from this", they "want no part of it."
So tonight on Countdown, Keith recounted an event some 44 years ago that should make any Democrat in Congress, any Democrat in the U.S. ... actually any decent person of any political persuasion, hang their head in shame for sitting back and allowing the Bush Regime to get away with their crimes.
John McCain & Dehydrated Babies (updated w/video)
Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 09:33:06 PM PDT
Last night, in a speech for the ages, Senator John McCain rose to heights seldom seen in American politics. One was reminded of Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream and Mountaintop speeches/sermons. Even far-left political analyst Harold Ford, chairman of the ultra-progressive Democratic Leadership Council, pronounced the speech, "Absolutely Great. Brilliant. One of the finest oratorical experiences imaginable."
And in one particularly poignant moment, the senator spoke the words that all caring people the world over have often contemplated:
"We should be able to deliver bottled hot water to dehydrated babies."
Pastor Problem much worse than reported (UPDATED)
Fri May 30, 2008 at 10:11:44 PM PDT
(Warning: This diary was written by an atheist (me) who believes that most religion, and the "holy" texts they're based on, have done more harm than good. So if you're easily offended by "anti-God", "anti-religious" opinions, please change the channel... NOW.)
Yes, Barack Obama has a problem with his pastor(s). So does John McCain. Even Hillary Clinton... she has a problem with her pastor, too. You mean Barack's Rev. Wright problem (and now this Pfleger guy)? Or Haggee and Parsley's support for McCain? Or Hillary's weird "Fellowship" (or "The Family") thing? Actually, no... that's not what I'm talking about.
What I'm talking about is this: The problem isn't just with their respective preachers, or even their churches. The bigger issue is with their religions.*
* Note: The rest of this deals mostly with Christianity, since I admittedly know very little about other religions. Suffice to say that what I'm about to say could very easily apply to several other religions, including Judaism and Islam. Also, I realize that some good can come from certain aspects of religion, and religious beliefs. But since nobody is ever condemned for doing good deeds because of religion, that's irrelevant to the point I'm trying to make in this diary.
Bush is a criminal? ... So what .... who cares?
Wed May 28, 2008 at 05:09:34 PM PDT
A clear and simple fact:
George W. Bush and many of his minions are cold-blooded murderers!
Today we've got even more evidence (as if we needed it) from none other than Scott McClellan. And while there have been a number of diaries today regarding this, they've all just quickly, quietly scrolled off the list (none have made the Rec list, as far as I can tell).
If that's what we wanna do, fine. Just ignore this diary, too. We've got a primary campaign to deal with, after all. We've gotta start going up against McCain, after all. Fine. Just ignore Bush's crimes... nothing more can be done.

What is segregation?
I don't know what segeration is.
What is bigotry?
I don't know what bigery is.
What does hatred mean?
I don't know what it is.
What is prejudice?
Um, I think it's when somebody's sick.
This is for you, Teddy! Time for Puffins & Marmots!
Tue May 20, 2008 at 09:56:24 PM PDT
For all intents and purposes*, the first half is over! The second half will begin shortly, and then we'll start fighting 24/7 against John W. McBush.
But tonight we can take a little time to celebrate.
And so... here's the happiest video I know of...
(* Or "intensive purposes" if you prefer)
Obama can NOT choose Hillary as VP .... here's why
Mon May 19, 2008 at 01:55:46 PM PDT
Consider this a call on Hillary supporters to stop for a second, and try to understand why many of us do not support her being chosen as VP. And it’s also a call on you Obama supporters to start trying to use more reasoned, logical excuses for opposing Hillary as VP. "We don’t like her", or even, "We don't like her policy stances," aren’t good enough reasons.
And lest anyone have any doubt, I think it’s now pretty clear that is what Hillary and her campaign are angling for... pushing for the VP spot. She’s not stupid. She understands that it’s impossible to catch up in the delegate count. She understands that it’s impossible to catch up in the popular vote count -- unless, that is, they include Florida and Michigan (based on the original results), and exclude some of the caucuses. Yet Hillary continues to push on, saying "This thing is far from over." So what’s up? Is she delusional or what?
Nope. She’s just trying to make the case for this being "so close" that Obama has to pick her as his running mate.
Video of Bush having a Kevin James moment
Fri May 16, 2008 at 09:25:13 PM PDT
I'm sure we all very much enjoyed seeing Tweety take down that idiot Kevin James yesterday. The guy wanted the whole world to know that Barack Obama is an "appeaser", even though he had NO idea what that meant.
But I wonder how many of us recall that our fearless leader had a very similar moment back in August of 2004.
Video Evidence: Bill O'Reilly hates women
Thu May 15, 2008 at 11:27:48 PM PDT
Among Billo's more pathetic regularly-appearing guests is a woman known as a "body language expert." She sits down with Mr. Orally and, as they watch a video, proceeds to explain to him what the unspoken "non-verbal cues" can tell us about the person in question. Like a couple weeks ago, they watched Bill Moyers interviewing Jeremiah Wright. The main thing the woman seemed to pick up from Moyer's and Wright's "body language" was that they seemed to "like each other." And so of course O'Reilly thought that was just great... a couple of "lefties" seeing eye to eye.
So now, tonight, Keith Olbermann decided to turn the tables. He had on his own "expert" to interpret the actions of Billo during his now-famous meltdown from his days on Inside Edition.
Are you willing to risk your life? (w/poll)
Wed May 14, 2008 at 10:05:06 PM PDT
As thrilling as it is to see Barack Obama moving, slowly but surely, toward his date with history on January 20th of next year, there's something a little scary about it, too.
Time to help Barack choose a VP (w/ Poll)
Fri May 09, 2008 at 12:55:26 AM PDT
For awhile now, Sven at My Silver State has had an ongoing series of polls allowing us to give our input on who we wanna see Obama pick as his running mate (as well as some cabinet positions). I think they're a lot of fun.
But now, I think, it's time to push this to the fore...
Zogby: 30 superdelegates coming within 48 hours
Wed May 07, 2008 at 08:27:11 PM PDT
I guess how important this is depends on how much you trust John Zogby.
But if true, this is BIG.
(I searched, and can't find that this has been posted here. If it has, sorry and I'll delete.)
Ultra-super-amazing prediction for tomorrow
Mon May 05, 2008 at 10:05:51 PM PDT
Most people here don't realize that I'm a psychic. Have been all my life. And don't even say, "Well then, why aren't you Bill Gatesian rich, having predicted numerous PowerBall drawings?" Because I don't like to show off, that's why!
Ok, now on to the prediction.
Questions re. voter turnout in NC
Sat May 03, 2008 at 12:05:09 AM PDT
This isn't gonna be much of a diary. It's mostly just a couple questions that I'm hoping you guys can answer. I know North Carolina is still looking pretty good for Obama, and most people are still expecting a win for him. But something is just kinda bugging me .... a little, gnawing doubt that I need to ask about...
Tweety gets schooled by a Peanut Farmer (w/poll)
Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 09:28:03 PM PDT
I know lots of you guys think Chris Matthews is a total idiot. I feel the same way much of the time. But I also think he has his moments... times when he makes a lot of sense. Witness his take on Obama's speech on race. So he's at least capable of looking intelligent on rare occasions.
Today was not one of those...
Do we DESERVE any better?
Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 11:26:59 PM PDT
This is gonna be real short. Call it a RANT if you want...
I've been spending half the day flipping through channels, mostly to see if there were any stories not involving Jeremiah Wright. But having no luck, I figured, well, I guess I'll at least check to see what kind of take we're getting over Wright's resurgence the past few days. Maybe people have decided that now that he's publicly explained himself a little, we can finally move on...
I don't know why I bothered. Right now I'm getting sick of it all. Right now I'm kinda needing to punch someone in the face!
