a couple of things not addressed in the FAQ

Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 12:06:51 AM PDT

Several months back I got a computer, turned it on and went searching for pictures of naked ladies, I guess I took a wrong turn as soon as I got onto the inter-web, because I ended up here.  For the longest time I kidded myself--tomorrow I will surf the web for porn-- but there's always a brief lapse once my computer boots up-- "I'll just quickly glance at the recommended diaries... and the sad cycle of addiction continues. I've  finally resigned myself to a cyber-life of politics instead of erotica, so  to help me accept my pathetic destiny could someone awnser a few quick questions.  Thanks. (it wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't crept into my regular biological life too-- I've passed pretty girls in the street and thought to myself:  OH ya, I can totally picture that girl...voting)

A Map With 50 blue states sure would be easy to color

I was half way through writing a diary on key/close down-ticket races-- and how helping knock off some unpopular Republican governors can actually help Obam upticket--when I came across this happy fact:

Charlie Cook and the folks at the Cook Political Report have changed their ratings on 10 different House races. A Republican is the incumbent in all of them. Guess which direction they're heading:

CA-04 — OPEN (Doolittle) — Solid Republican to Likely Republican
CO-04 — Marilyn Musgrave — Lean Republican to Toss Up
CT-04 — Chris Shays — Lean Republican to Toss Up
IL-10 — Mark Kirk — Lean Republican to Toss Up
NM-02 — OPEN (Pearce) — Likely Republican to Lean Republican
NY-29 — Randy Kuhl — Lean Republican to Toss Up
NC-08 — Robin Hayes — Lean Republican to Toss Up
OH-01 — Steve Chabot — Lean Republican to Toss Up
VA-02 — Thelma Drake — Likely Republican to Lean Republican
WA-08 — Dave Reichert — Lean Republican to Toss Up

well they say hope for a landside, prepare for a squeaker.   more...

A lot of ways to get to 270

Sun Jun 22, 2008 at 07:56:35 PM PDT

The great thing about having so many states in play is that even in the ones Obama loses Mccain is going to have to spend some of his precious money to defend them.
And in addition  to Obama's 50 state strategy helping down ticket dems--Obama will be helped by downticket races, and/or  Mccain is going to be hurt by unpopular republicans down ticket.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe outlined several alternatives to reaching the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House that runs counter to the conventional wisdom of recent elections.Plouffe and his aides are weighing where to contest, and where chances are too slim to marshal a large effort. A win in Virginia (13 electoral votes) or Georgia (15 votes) could give Obama a shot if he, like Kerry, loses Ohio or Florida.

Nancy Pelosi, BOO

Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 01:34:37 PM PDT

I think Nancy Pelosi deserves to be impeached along with Bush/Cheney.  Or I would like to see her removed by Obama as his first act of CHANGE If neither of those come to pass I hope she loses  her seat in the election.

If the president breaks the law he should be impeached; or so I thought, until Pelosi came up with her brilliant bipartisan "compromise"-- instead let's just change the laws to make whatever the Prez wants to do legal.

This is my first diary AND I have 3 essays do for school...so this is going to be done quickly and will probably be a little muddled.

a promise to make progress on human rights and open the country to world media coverage was central to China's Olympic bid.
