Why I Don't Believe the Warren Commission

Wed Nov 22, 2006 at 09:01:05 AM PDT

The Warren Commission says that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the murder of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963. I say it doesn't add up, and the main reason I say that is because it requires acceptance of too many coincidences.  Follow me past the break, and I'll lay them out for you.

When we still had a safety net

Mon Jul 03, 2006 at 09:25:26 AM PDT

I read a diary this morning that reminded me of my own experience during the Reagan years.  This started me thinking about the difference between being broke then and now, and what we've lost; and why I come to this site.

I've kept a journal continuously since July of 1980. It lives in nine notebooks in a cupboard in my little office downstairs. I consulted the first book... and quickly discovered that there was a great deal that memory had lost or glossed over.  Supposedly it was morning in America, but I was in no position to enjoy the dawn.

The Quiet Christian

Mon Jun 05, 2006 at 06:14:09 PM PDT

Yes, I'm talking about myself. I'm not saying I'm quiet - I know that's not true! But I am quiet about my Christianity. I don't keep it a secret. People who know me are aware that I belong to the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod; that I attend regularly, nearly every Sunday; that I sing in the choir and serve on the Board of Stewardship; that every Wednesday evening for four years I drove Young'un to confirmation class. But I don't push my religion on other people. I don't try to convert anyone, or criticize others for what they do or do not believe.
