The Invisible Women and Men
Sat May 17, 2008 at 07:47:30 AM PDT
All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts.
William Shakespeare
Sometime, in the face of all that is wrong, we do not see the path which bears things that are right. Well, I remembered a story as a result of reading another diary today about the double standards in our political and social world.
"I believe there is still a chance she can win"
Sun May 11, 2008 at 07:01:01 AM PDT
I think about people who hold onto a glimmer of hope for Clinton and believe there is still a chance. The stories of her supporters makes me even more angry at Clinton. Her dishonesty with the true state of the race proves to me why she has not conceded. She is all about herself.
Why the Popular Vote No Longer Matters
Sat May 10, 2008 at 05:25:52 AM PDT
There has been a lot of discussion about Clinton's possible resurgence by overtaking Obama in the popular vote. One would think that as long as this metric is still a possibility, she would continue to be a viable candidate. But, here is a strong argument as to why the door on the popular vote metric maybe closed too.
Clinton to Leave Race In Exchange for Debt Relief
Fri May 09, 2008 at 03:19:23 PM PDT
Clinton agrees to leave the race in return for help paying off her campaign debt, a key role at the convention, and a guarantee that she becomes the lead Senate sponsor of the health care reform bill under a President Obama.
This story is still developing, but it appears that Clinton is finally seeing that this is over.
Clinton: I Have The Support of White People Who Do Not Complete College
Thu May 08, 2008 at 06:42:45 AM PDT
I am not sure what even to write. I am just paralyzed with words because I have never heard of a Presidential candidate ever boast that they should be the President of the United States based on their supporter's skin color.
As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me." "There's a pattern emerging here," she said.
Three Superdelegates Pass on Meeting
Wed May 07, 2008 at 05:10:11 PM PDT
The Hillary campaign today is putting on their poker face, trying to pretend that they did not suffer defeat by yesterday's NC and IN results. The surrogates made their rounds today all staying on message. Hillary also organized a meeting today in Washington, D.C. with superdelegates, but three said that's ok.
Mississippi Repugs Going Nuclear
Mon May 05, 2008 at 12:30:14 PM PDT
We all know about the North Carolina attacks, but not much has been mentioned about the ongoing attacks on Obama in Mississippi. It is a State that Obama will not likely carry, but Travis Childers is running for Congressional District 1.

Rev. Wright Visits With National Press Club w/ poll
Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 07:15:54 PM PDT
We were introduced to Rev. Wright by sound bites. And, like it or not, he is now the most famous pastor in the world. Not, because of his contributions to society in serving the poor, defending his country, or preaching the gospel, but because of his association to a man who will become the next President of the United States. What does Rev. Wright want you to know. On Monday, the most famous pastor in the world will speak to the National Press Club.

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 09:02:14 PM PDT
Philadephia came out big for Barack and I am so grateful for all of the volunteers who worked and then worked some more to close the gap.

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 11:36:18 AM PDT
Obama woke up this morning and went out to eat at Pamaela's P&G diner in Pittsburgh. From what he had to say, the numbers are going to be very close.
Bill Clinton's Link to China
Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 06:55:05 AM PDT
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Bill Clinton's Foundation is linked to a company that is apart of the Tibet crackdown.

I did a quick research and it appears this is a pattern for Bill Clinton in that he had relationships with executives who contributed to a legal defense fund he set up in 1996 and at least one executive was convicted.

Hillary Praises Republican Party
Thu Apr 10, 2008 at 11:43:53 PM PDT
You know it is time to take a deep breath when you learn that a Democratic nominee for President praises the other party over her own. A frustrated Clinton made these comments yesterday: "I really don’t understand why the Republican Party very clearly decided what they were going to do, and the Democratic Party can’t decide"

The Moral of Pinnochio
Tue Mar 25, 2008 at 11:34:35 PM PDT
I remember as a child being so fond of the story of Pinocchio, and carry the moral in my mind as an adult today. I recount the most memorable lines from the story,"How do you know I am lying?" "Lies, my boy, are known in a moment. There are two kinds of lies, lies with short legs and lies with long noses. Yours, just now, happen to have long noses."
