Barack's new superdelegate "ace in the hole".

Mon May 12, 2008 at 08:47:26 AM PDT

Jonathan Alter, well known to many of us from numerous appearances on Countdown, offers the following in Newsweek as Barack's "ace in the hole".

The Quick and Easy Solution to the Nomination Mess.

Fri Feb 08, 2008 at 10:26:30 AM PDT

There’s an old story about a group of engineers unable to figure out the best way to un-wedge a truck jammed under a low bridge. A young boy on a bike suggested they just let the air out of the tires. Often the solution is to a difficult problem is overlooked due to its simplicity.

Why would the spread remain almost the same?

Wed Jan 09, 2008 at 02:36:55 PM PDT

I have read some of the internet postings regarding possible voting machine fraud in the Obama/Clinton NH race for which I have not reached a conclusion.  However, I did notice an almost equal spread between their vote counts throughout the evening.  Having followed live voting results since the Kennedy/Nixon race in 1960, I am used to witnessing a sea-saw change between the candidates as various precincts which are strong for one candidate or the other randomly report their results. In contrast, I never saw this usual pattern, but rather one of an almost equal spread throughout the night which could result from a programmed mathematical formula.

While I am strongly opposed to electronic voting, I have no evidence of outright fraud.  However, I do feel it rather noteworthy that the normally expected sea/saw pattern did not occur in this election.

I should have never voted for Bill Clinton!

Sat Dec 15, 2007 at 10:39:45 AM PDT

If I would have followed the logic of Bill Clinton expressed to Charlie Rose last night,

In a hard-changing interview with Charlie Rose tonight, Bill Clinton said Americans who are prepared to choose someone with less experience, are prepared to "roll the dice" about the future of America. "It's less predictable, isn't it? When is the last time we elected a president based on one year of service before he's running?"

I should have never voted for him since he ran for President with no elected national government experience! The same is true of "King George", Reagan, and Carter. To answer Bill - we have done it many, many times.

When Hillary's "First Lady" experience is not considered, she actually only has seven years elected experience compared to Obama's eleven! Furthermore, Barack's teaching of constitutional law beats "First Lady" failed health reform hands down. Other than voting for Bush's holy war has Hillary done anything of real significance in her many years of what Bill considers "experience"?

ABC offers Clarke rebuttal to "The Path to 9/11"

Tue Sep 05, 2006 at 12:50:31 PM PDT

My Direct TV Program Guide shows the 9/11 mini-series to be a total of six hours in length - (Part 1) - three hours on Sunday night and (Part 2) - three hours on Monday night. My live Tivo guide which is more current shows three hours on Sunday and two hours on Monday! It is presently scheduled to be five hours in length. ABC may have originally planned on six hours when the earlier guide went to press, but were not able to line up sponsors for the final hour and edited it back to five.

Another possibility is that the program was edited to take out portions that may have contrary to the story the right-wing pre-screeners wanted told.  However, at this point we are left without knowing the reason or reasons for the change.  A interesting third possibility is below the fold.

Fighting George Allen Spin

Fri Sep 01, 2006 at 10:01:27 AM PDT

I have sent the following email to the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund as a follow-up to our diaries concerning their potential award to George Allen.  As a result of Kossack action yesterday Senator "Macaca" Allen has now declined the award.

We are making a difference.

Many of you followed the dairy today concerning Senator George Allen being presented the "Thurgood Marshall Award".  Many of us called and sent emails to the proper individuals.  Our results have been rewarded.
