Missouri Reaches 98% Voter Registration
Fri Oct 22, 2004 at 01:34:15 PM PDT
From the
Daily American Republic of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A record 4.2 million Missourians are registered to vote on Nov. 2 -- a figure so high that election officials acknowledge it likely is inflated by a large number of people who are registered more than once.
Statewide, there were fewer than 4.3 million voting-age residents, according to the most recent Census Bureau estimate. If Missouri's voter rolls were accurate, that would mean 98 percent of adults are registered to vote.

New Rasmussen poll for PA is out.
"The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows Senator Kerry with 46% of the vote and President Bush with 45%. Four years ago, Bush lost Pennsylvania's 21 Electoral College votes to Al Gore by five percentage points."
"One month ago, Kerry held a 48% to 43% lead in Pennsylvania."
Two weeks ago, a Strategic Vision poll (another Republican polling firm) had Kerry up by 5% with a MOE +-3%.

First, we (we as in I and people I just met who took me to Fulton) stood in the rain for over an hour to get inside the gym. We were incredibly lucky, as we got in like 10 minutes before the speech started. A LOT of people got turned away. I wouldn't even try to venture how many showed.
Anyway, I felt that Kerry's speech was powerful, informative, and very well written. Kudos to his speech writer. The speech was interupted several times because of raucus applause. We in attendence noted how ironic it was that while Cheney was to give a foreign policy speech, and turned it into a campaign speech, Kerry was billed to give a campaign speech, and ended up giving a foreign policy speech! (a good one at that)
I think what all this proves is that Kerry is a capable and thoughtful man who will make a great President. His vision for the world is nothing like that of the PNACers. Once he is elected, I have no doubt that he will lead America back to its position of dignity and respect, that has been lost by Bush.
Oh, and as expected, there were Busbots there. They shouted "Suport our Troops, Vote Bush". Well, a Veteran walked right up to them, and asked "Why don't you serve for 4 years!" They got very quiet. But then some asshole tried to offer him some waffles. I shouted "6 more months" and flipped them off. And then we left them to their own devices. Sad, silly people they are. They don't deserve a good President. But the rest of us do. SO vote for Kerry, cause I sure will.
