Obama cleaned house in Red States w/o Fox News!

Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 03:02:34 PM PDT

I thought Obama made a big mistake going on Fox News last Sunday.  Others disagree, arguing that there are a large number of conservative voters who only watch Fox News.

But Obama has won very conservative states with large margins of victory: Alaska, North Dakota, Idaho.  He won Utah's primary by 16 points.  And he did this while boycotting Fox News.  If appearing on Fox actually helped a candidate with conservative voters, why did Hillary lose big in those states?

making lemonade - Attorney General John Edwards

Sat Jan 05, 2008 at 07:15:19 PM PDT

John Edwards needed to win Iowa.  Badly.  He would still have a good shot if he were getting equal media coverage or had a large warchest like Obama or Hillary.  But that's not the case, so unless there's a major gaffe by Obama or Hillary goes kamikaze on the Senator from Illinois, Edwards is out.  He's unlikely to play second fiddle and take the VP slot again, but there's an even better alternative if he loses the nomination: serve the next eight years as Attorney General.

getting impeachment rolling - start with Jefferson

Wed Jul 25, 2007 at 12:52:30 AM PDT

Forget impeaching Bush, Cheney, or even Gonzales.  I think the Democratic Congress should get the ball rolling by first impeaching... Rep. William Jefferson.  As we all know, the media has vastly higher standards for Democrats than it does for Republicans, so a trial would get a lot of coverage on the networks and be discussed in great length by our Very Serious Pundits, without Democrats ever mentioning the Bush Administration.

I doubt too many Republicans would pass up a chance to impeach another Democrat, especially one busted with thousands of dollars of bribe money in his freezer.  We'd have a lot of nice C-Span footage of Republicans talking about the seriousness of corruption and the need for accountability for public officials.  Dems would partially innoculate themselves against charges of "just playing politics" or "getting revenge for Clinton".

Then we impeach Gonzales.  Then we impeach Cheney.  Then we impeach Bush.  And dare the GOP and the media to justify their double standards.
