Ok...two topics today...
starting after the jump
We, the democratic party, can win Michigan in November...but it will be easier if Senator Obama flys up there today or some time this week and does this....after the jump...
hahahahahahah....i don't know whether to laugh or cry or pick up a gun...
what can't this man mess up?
So he will "jawbone" the Saudis to keep the oil prices down? Well last I looked oil was 107 a barrel...what was it when this oil man took office, this friend of the Saudis? 30 bucks a barrel....so it more than triples in his term.
Who is he helping here?? The American People?? Doesn't seem so...
Now, on top of all that, we now have Venezuela shipping all their oil to China. Oil that used to come here. Nah, that won't hurt our struggling economy...grrr
luckily for me i've been car free for 3 years and my next car will be the Aptera...but still this oil and energy crap is hurting us badly...and we shouldn't be giving this OIL MAN a pass...
this will get worse before it gets better
Should he instead focus on Senator McCain?
At times it almost seems like Hilary is auditioning for McCain's VP spot. She mentions his service, his experience, his being ready on day one to be president...many people have wondered why she would be building McCain up so high...some have joked that she sounds like she is working hard to be McCain's VP...perhaps it isn't a joke...
One of the points Senator Clinton's team has been trying to do, and will keep trying to do, is play the "We care more about FLA and MI than Obama...We want all voters to count."
What Obama could do is this....
It seems Obama will need to strike back at least some on Senator Clinton...but he can't become too negative, nor let his campaign become Clinton's style of campaign.
So what should he do? And how much and how hard?
Well one thing he can and should do...is after the jump....
Hey, Obama's got a funny name...at least in the US of A there is no denying that his name is unusual. Of course our country is a melting pot and we have lots of funny names...and more every day. But, especially to middle America, it is funny...and he should play it up.
"I have big ears and a funny name, but I'll work tirelessly to make America stronger and to re-build from the horror that Bush and McCain have thrust upon this great country over these last 7 shameful years..."
should be the start of every speech he gives between now and November....
more after the jump...
Ok...this is a much debated topic...and a hot button issue for some. I live in New Mexico, so I can approach this a bit more dispassionately...but I do believe it is an important issue, and one that needs to be addressed and rectified. I hope Dean is listening. Because, instead of the near clusterf#@k we have right now, I think there just might be a win/win solution after all.
Ok, we know that it is very important not to disenfranchise any of our states...let alone two that could be very important swing states. We have to find a way to seat delegates from both of these states. At the same time we also know that all the states but two followed the rules...and that a punishment was set out....
more after the fold..
When would it be the best time for Edwards to endorse? And whom should he endorse??
more after the jump...
Just got back from the convention center in downtown Albuquerque and thought I would jot down a quick diary...will try and add some photos later, but they are from a distance and with my iPhone...so we will see how that goes...but first:
Bipartisanship and (even more dreaded) Reagan....
More scary stuff after the jump
I, like most in this country, have a problem with the Presidency. Ok, that is mild. I have huge freakin’ problems with THIS Presidency, for oh so many reasons. Yet I still believe not only in this country, but I also believe in "The Presidency" as a powerful part of this democracy.
At the same time I know many republicans that had a huge problem with the Clinton Presidency, though I never really understood why. He grew the economy and seemed very centrist to me.
And I know I had huge problems with the Reagan Presidency.
It got me to thinking. It seems that the Presidency has certain problems and limitations. And with all problems and limitations, we can either look for solutions and improvements, or we can throw up our hands and say , "That’s just the way the system is, can't do anything about it,"
more after the fold....
Don't under-sell the importance of getting our message out in small spaces. Cars are a great way to do this. A short message that everybody will read (Face it, at a stop light you are bored and will read just about anything. Sure the kid in the car next to is too busy texting while driving to read your sticker, but he/she ain't likely voting away) But i digress...more after the jump.
We all know Gov. Richardson has the best resume and the most foreign experience. But the question has always been, is he well known enough. Can he WIN?
I have heard the latest call from the Right about the Iraqi war. They want to let the Iraqi government vote to decide whether to have the American troops stay or go. The right thinks they have a winning hand with this vote since the Iraqi government is largely in Bush's pocket. But I think a much better idea, and closer to the American ideal and way is this:
