How many votes did you cost Obama today?
Fri May 02, 2008 at 11:07:29 AM PDT
Okay people, listen up. Pay very close attention; this is important.
You need to THINK before you act.
Think about it. The documentary War Room has been out there on VHS and DVD for well over a decade, and people have been trying their damnedest to dig up any scrap of dirt they could on the Clintons the entire time. How likely is it that, if Mickey Kantor had actually said what it's claimed that he said, it would have gone unnoticed until just a few days before a critical primary election in Indiana?
Does that even come close to passing the smell test?
How Pelosi can turn the Republican reform proposal against them
Tue Jan 02, 2007 at 02:51:36 PM PDT
By now, you've probably heard that the Republicans have dug up Speaker Pelosi's old proposal for increased rights for the House minority party and are planning to re-introduce it. Their thinking is that this is a good political move because if Pelosi accepts it, they get more power to use to hamper the Democratic majority, and if she rejects it, they can accuse her of hypocrisy.
Well, there is a way Pelosi can turn this proposal against them and come out ahead.
Impeachment: Give me the names
Thu Dec 07, 2006 at 04:51:32 PM PDT
In recent discussions about impeachment, it's been pointed out that removing Bush from office would result in Dick Cheney becoming president. Well, it seems that the pro-impeachment crowd has come up with an answer for that - impeach them both at the same time.
To those advocating that course of action, I have one simple request. Give me the names of sixteen Republican Senators who would vote to remove Bush and Cheney from office, thereby making Nancy Pelosi the President of the United States.
AK-Sen: Knowles gets endorsement from veteran leader
Wed Aug 11, 2004 at 12:59:08 PM PDT
Veteran leader endorses Knowles:
Ric Davidge, a Vietnam veteran and self-described Reagan conservative who worked as a high-level official in James Watt's Interior Department, said Tuesday that Sen. Lisa Murkowski has consistently voted against veterans and that he had more confidence in Democrat Tony Knowles.

AK Sen: Murkowski could yet draw a primary challenge
Tue Mar 23, 2004 at 04:56:52 PM PDT
Miller may challenge Murkowski for Senate
"Departing state Administration Commissioner Mike Miller, the former state Senate president, said Monday he's considering mounting a Republican primary challenge to Lisa Murkowski for the U.S. Senate.
Miller, 52, who served for 18 years in the Alaska Legislature from North Pole and was his party's nominee for lieutenant governor in 1994, said state Republicans should have a choice of who will face Democrat Tony Knowles in November. He described himself as more conservative on social and fiscal issues than Murkowski.
"Wow!" said Sarah Palin of Wasilla, another possible candidate from the party's conservative wing, when told that Miller is considering a run. "This is exciting."
Your daily dose of irony, courtesy of Paul Bremer
Fri Mar 19, 2004 at 02:18:31 PM PDT
From the
NYT:
"In a morning meeting on Wednesday, Mr. Bremer warned the Iraqi leaders that they risked isolating themselves and their country if they continued to snub the United Nations."
I guess it's "Do as we say, not as we do," eh Paul?
Kucinich predicts he'll win nomination in brokered convention
Thu Feb 05, 2004 at 02:10:41 AM PDT
No, really, this isn't from the Onion:
"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democrat Dennis Kucinich has only two delegates and low single-digit showings after nine nominating contests, yet he said Wednesday he's staying in the presidential race.
"The race for the nomination will go all the way to the convention," the congressman from Cleveland said. "It is at the convention where I will win the nomination, based on the emergence of Iraq as the defining issue."
Dennis, buddy, you're a good guy, I think you've done a lot for the party and this nomination battle, but really....
How is the Dean camp responding to the Brooks hit piece?
Tue Dec 09, 2003 at 04:07:44 PM PDT
Does anyone have any info on how the Dean campaign is responding, or planning to respond, to the David Brooks NYT column that just ran?
If their plan is to ignore it, that really sets off alarm bells for me, because Al Gore tried the same thing, and look where it got him.
What would be a good, effective strategy to use here?
Perle shocks crowd by admitting Iraq war was illegal
Thu Nov 20, 2003 at 05:31:39 PM PDT
Richard Perle has admitted that the U.S. invasion of Iraq violated international law.
Here's a story about it. Not surprisingly, I haven't seen anything about this anywhere in the American press.
A bold stroke for Clark
Fri Oct 31, 2003 at 03:02:48 PM PDT
What should Clark do about the media's attempts to give him the Gore treatment? Why not go on the offensive?
