A lot has been said about how the Democratic leadership in congress are basically spineless in not forcing the issue of withdrawal from an unpopular againts an unpopular president. The illussory 67 veto-proof majority in the Senate has about the same chance as Kuinicinich becoming president. Even gathering a simple majority is wishful thinking considering there is no chance for Liebermann or Nelson to consider a bill containing timelines for withdrawal. What is even more frustrating is the Harry Reid seems to be content in letting the war drag on and looks desperate to try "win over" some republican senators by his recent pronouncements that the dems won't insist on a specific timetable for withdrawal. So where does that leave the troops still stranded in the quagmire that is theIraq occupation?
