Saudis reconsidering dollar as reserve currency?

Thu Sep 20, 2007 at 07:04:41 AM PDT

Reuters today has a story on the slide of the dollar against the euro, Canadian dollar, etc. Not surprising after the Fed's half-point cut on Tuesday.

But the real eye-catcher for those of us who are worried about America's standing in the world and how that might affect our economy is this: The Saudis may be putting into question the idea of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency.

That's scary. Follow me below the 8 little dots for more...

Why aren't Republicans talking impeachment? Balkanization of America

Fri Jun 29, 2007 at 08:08:02 AM PDT

The most puzzling part of the Bush/Cheney destruction of America (especially since 2004) has been, why aren't Republicans, especially Republican leaders and "thinkers," outraged at the Bush/Cheney?

  1. Do they simply not see that the Bush/Cheney administration is a grave danger to the United States, to the Rule of Law, and to the Constitution?
  1. Or do they see it, and think the destruction of our way of government is acceptable?
  1. Or do they see it and are now enjoying the benefits and they are foolish enough to think it will last forever? (I.e., are they in denial?)
  1. Or do they see it and are just so lazy they choose not to act?

Which of these is the right answer? And does it mean the end of America as we knew it?

There are, like, eight little dots just below here. If you go past them, there's more.

Any progress with the MSM?

Tue Mar 27, 2007 at 07:27:25 AM PDT

Reading Bobcat Hughes's diary yesterday about Katie Couric and her hack job on the Edwardses, got me to wondering. After several years now of blogging and letters-to-the editor about quality and bias in the MSM, have we made any progress? Those of us out here in the reality-based community have pointed out so many times the laziness and intellectual dishonesty of the MSM. Have the MSM heard? Are they taking the criticisms to heart and trying to improve?

Poll

Have the MSM responded to criticisms about laziness and bias in their work, and made improvements in the quality of their product?
