I'd just like to direct your attention to a diary by Kossack Mahler3, who went to in person to CNN in New York to insist on seeing someone about the Pentagon's generals propagandizing us on their network. He also passed out pamphlets about it to people on the street.

The diary has great contact information to help US do our part in holding CNN's feet to the fire for airing Pentagon propaganda. It could be done at other networks as well.

Commenters on the diary suggest he have someone shooting video and other support. I hope New Yorkers will read to see if they can help. I wonder if Atlantans might want to make a similar effort at CNN headquarters there? Isn't OPOL in Atlanta? Perhaps others of us would like to take up pamphleteering?

For the first time since the early 1770s, Russian troops are in Lebanon. They are not part of the UN force, but are flying Russian and Lebanese flags.

The rest of an engineering battalion, totalling between 350 and 400 troops, is to land by sea Friday at Jiyeh, south of the capital, near six Israeli-bombed bridges to be repaired in the Sidon area, the embassy said.

"The only goal is to build these temporary, metallic bridges ... It is our material support to our political efforts" for Lebanon, Russian ambassador Sergei Boukin told AFP.

It's the 10th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, and there are lots of anti-government and/or white supremacist people who think April 19 is very important.

To the list below, I would add April 19, 1985. That's when the Covenant, Sword, and Arm of the Lord was stormed by the FBI outside remote Pontiac, Missouri. I was driving out of St. Louis to my hometown, quite close to there, when I heard about it on the radio. I pulled off and asked state troopers, who said it wasn't in my path.

Next day I went to a press conference out there. The Ozarks are beautiful with white dogwoods this time of year, and they covered every ridge of these old hills that weekend. Above them circled these black helicopters.
