I have been vehemently anti-DLC since they first exposed what they really were. When Bill Clinton was elected and began pushing thinly veiled Republican policies i spent many a night screaming at the tv as the media pushed republican ideals from both parties. By his second term i had all but given up on america. At least until the blogosphere brought us together and gave us a place to coordinate and fight back.

Thats' why when Hillary ran against the first democrat in my lifetime who spoke exactly the message i had been waiting for my entire life it became literally a battle of good vs evil. Hillary and her "nuke Iran" speech before the far right AIPAC vs John Edwards and his Fight for the Working classes.

Dailykos and the left blogosphere has gotten pretty bloody lately. The candidate wars this year have turned, at this point, more vociferous than they've ever been. Many of you are disheartened. Sickened. Literally dread seeing the comments or diaries on dailykos, mydd, atrios or whatever left blog some days. You want peace. You want us all to get along. You want us to come to understanding through discussion and polite factual debate.

That is never going to happen. On the day that does happen we are no a free people.

This diary is a presentation of why i support John Edwards and why i believe you should too. It contains no attacks on other candidates and it would be preferable if none of the comments did either. The purpose is not to gore anyones horse.

John Edwards is fighting against the corrupt oligarchy that rules this nation. He has taken a brave stand and gotten astonishingly far despite rabid msm and dc opposition to his message. He is doing not what the consultants of all stripes urge but rather what we've alwayd demanded. Driving home from a shooting spree tonight i saw something that has become common in america. Looking for photographic opportunities in rainy overcast weather isnt easy. You tend to wrack your brain for places long forgotten. For ideas that arent commonly done. Coming up the offramp to go home it would have been easy to miss the man and woman on the side with a sign. In the growing cold they were huddled by the railing, covered in multiple layers of dark clothes to fight the oncoming winter.

They are the people we ignore. The people we put effort into making disappear. They have signs usually. Stranded. Hungry. Will work for food. The right wing media teaches us carefully about them. That they are all lazy. Alchoholics. Drug dependant. That helping them hurts them. They'll just use it to get more drugs.. More alchohol.. more whatever. They are poor and homeless. That proves they are inferior. Beyond help. Its' all their fault.

We are in the most important political battle of the century. Our government is so rampantly corrupt that the public and documented disappearance of 12 billion dollars passes with barely a fuss. When Iraq is buying arms from China apparently because US provided arms were sold to 'insurgents'. When the US supports torture and runs death camps, and concentration camps in the US and around the world. When Corporations are the only "citizens" that matter.  When their corporate contrbutions not only determine who is elected, but who runs. When they write the laws.

There is an astonishing silence over the Roberts nomination. When one would think the left would be up in arms over a far right wing judge being put on the court the silence is deafening. And indeed some 'democrats' argue that we shouldnt fight at all. That this battle isnt the big one. Isnt one we can win. Will cost us too dearly.

The term "peak oil" is quite probably a bit unintentionally misleading. The term could be called spin realistically.  The reason is when people hear "peak oil" they think "running out of energy supplies". We arent. We are nowhere close to it.

Hyperbole? Guess again.

The EPA is now advertising a program to test Pesticides on Duval County, Florida children. Or more specifically.. pay the lower classes to have the inside of homes sprayed periodically with pesticides and then every three to six months examine pictures of the children and take stool samples among other methods to study the effect on children.

Impossible? It's happening now.

BAE a British company which is the biggest foreign supplier to the Pentagon has bought United Defense, the maker of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

America is beginning to outsource the most important part of its industrial base : the Defense industry.

The white house today stated that the crisis in Iraq has been traced to flawed voting machines in that nations elections.

"We have traced the error to a flaw in the code used in the machines", a white house spokesman said. "We knew the Iraqis wouldnt purposely elect a fundementalist muslim government with close ties to Iran so we asked Diebold to recheck their code"

Diebold spokesman Ima P Ublican stated that their code was tamperproof and that this was obviously the work of democrats attempting to embarass the company. "We knew the democrats were hacking us november first when we found that the President didnt win by the three million he req..er... i mean the fifth.. er its technical stuff. Go away. You liberal media are always trying to play gotcha"
