The Hunting of a Journalist

Wed Apr 25, 2007 at 10:31:36 AM PDT

I wasn't too worried about Rosie O'Donnell. Having an outspoken Democrat on daytime TV was a nice idea, but when she broke out some of the creakier 9/11 theories - well, I was still impressed by just how much mileage the Ronald Reagan Memorial Media got out of her. And how easily my conservative relatives managed to blame her for U.S. troop deaths in Iraq. It's not an easy connection, but somebody's gotta make it.

Now that Rosie is stepping down, the right wing noise machine has picked up something more threatening on their radars; this time, it's a person I would hate to see smeared out of the picture...

The Continued Ughventures of Dennis Kucinich

I just came across some diaries about Kucinich's decision to go ahead with articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney. The diaries were buried after a few hours, but the polls and comment sections still had a lot of folks who were extremely proud of this act, and even angry at Nancy Pelosi for shooting it down.

Reconsidering Obama

Oh, it might be way too early to be bothering with all of this. But no matter how level headed I want to be, it is difficult to watch the media try to pick the next President without getting involved somehow.

I've been drawn to Edwards. Primarily because of qualities that resemble two men I would rather see run, but seem like they won't: Wesley Clark and Al Gore. Edwards has really opened up as a candiate, moving past his slick lawyer-speak of 2004 into a more honest, warts'n'all approach this time around. He is also insistantly talking to poverty, worker's rights, and health care in a specific manner at virtually every campaign stop. After watching him for a while I became convinced he is the only candidate I would campaign for in the primaries.
