Presidential Campaigns or Pro Wrestling?
Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 11:31:27 AM PDT
I don't know about anyone else but do you get the feeling that the Presidential Race resembles pro wrestling? Somehow I think the fix is in. Let's take some news from today for example. AP reports that Foreclosure filings against US homeowners soar 57 percent. http://biz.yahoo.com/...
Oil prices rise above 113 dollars a barrel for first time.

Funding The War(s) -- Off The Table?
Wed Sep 26, 2007 at 10:44:36 AM PDT
Well it's almost high noon at the "Ok corral"(whatever). It's official Robert Gates has asked for an additional 190 billion to fund the ludicrous, illegal, immoral war in Iraq http://news.yahoo.com/... The question is will he get it?
Worst Speaker in History
Fri Sep 07, 2007 at 07:48:48 AM PDT
Well maybe not the "Worst", but as far as Democratic house speakers go Nancy is right up there. Do any kossacks have any idea what Madame Speaker did during the August recess? If you guessed Town Hall style meetings in her home town you would be wrong. Madame Speaker has not held a Town Hall meeting since January 2006. If you guessed she held private meetings with her constituents in her home town you would also be wrong.
Dems for Billionaires
Tue Jul 03, 2007 at 06:55:53 AM PDT
I hadn't seen this posted on Kos yet. Just why are some Democrats opposed to raising billionaires taxes to the same level of working people?
Let’s start with Sen. Chuck Schumer, Democrat from Wall Street, I mean, New York. He’s not enthusiastic about a bill in the Senate Finance Committee that would subject publicly traded private-equity partnerships to a corporate-income-tax rate of 35 percent - rather than the ludicrously low 15-percent deal for capital gains.
This is an awkward development for Schumer, who leads fund-raising for Senate Democrats. He collected $385,400 from private-equity managers in the 2005-2006 election cycle.
