It's now getting more acceptable to realize that the Obama movement, the Clinton Hating part of that movement, has created a problem for Obama in the General Election.
I think we've all got to take a step back and think about that for a second. This was a woman who was cordial and welcoming and yet she felt estranged from DailyKos. The strike shut down the conversation.
When your entire Electability argument is based on the assumption that a significant number of Obama supporters won't vote for Clinton in the General Election....
but i have something more to say about the same argument I've heard over and over again, repeated almost verbatim by Obama and, to a person, every one of his supporters.
As we all know one of the reasons why Obama thinks Hillary Clinton can't unite the country or be effective at building any bipartisan consensus for change is because she's been attacked too much by Republicans. With, in his view, unfair attacks.
"Her natural inclination is to draw a picture of Republicans as people who need to be crushed and defeated," the U.S. senator from Illinois said in a separate telephone interview with the newspaper.
"It's not entirely her fault. She's been the target of some unfair attacks in the past."
OBAMA: Well, I think that Senator Clinton mentioned two specific issue areas where we've got some differences. I'm happy to debate those, which is what I think should be the focus of this campaign. We both want universal health care.
When I released my plan a few months later, we were in a debate and Senator Clinton said we all want universal health care. Of course, I was down 20 points in the polls at the time, and so my plan was pretty good. It's not as good now, but my plan hasn't changed. The politics have changed a little bit.
I'm tempted to just let folks think about those statements on their own. Not that it will sink in for many here.
Ever since the last Debate I've been trying to find out where John Edwards stands on Gov. Spitzer's plan to give Undocumented Immigrants Drivers Lisences.
It has been repeatedly pointed out that that is not the point. Well. Of course, one is free to disagree. Built into the logic that one must give clear "Yes" or "No" answers is the Paramount Importance of knowing where a Candidate Stands on the Issue.
So. Speaking only for myself, I do think it's important to know where John Edwards stands on the issues, not only the Issue of Clinton's Answer, but on the Issue Itself.
Where does John Edwards Stand on Gov. Spitzer's Plan to give Illegal Immigrants Drivers Lisences?
Note: I went back and forth all day on this. Undoubtedly, one is free to point out that Kerry lost in '04. One is also free to point out that Clinton is not Kerry. The salient point remains, and I'll take the hits as they come.
Just to get y'all primed for Obama's latest speech, I first would like to post this Video:
Did you make it through the whole 10 minutes? Good. The original recording from 1968 was 17 minutes long so consider yourself lucky. For the time being.
It's almost impossible to isolate just a few key sentences here and not violate Fair Usage. But I'll do my best.
Over at Talkleft.com Former Ambassador Joe Wilson, who has endorsed Senator Clinton's bid to become president, has now provided a Nice Endorsement of Clinton's Position on Iran.
