Hillary ducks sniper fire in Bosnia

Sat Mar 22, 2008 at 07:50:54 AM PDT

Today's story at Washingtonpost.com on Hillary's Borne Adventure-like exploits is too rich not to share.

You may recall the comedian Sinbad called Hillary out on her exagerated claims of daring-do. So what does Hillary respond? She ups the ante!

Now she is telling hair-raising stories of sniper fire on the tarmac! Check out the photos and video at the link! That's not Hillary ducking down to hug a little girl during a ceremony on the tarmac! She's ducking sniper fire!!!

Hillary's Balkan Adventures, Part II

I can't wait for the next installment of this adventure. Maybe she can tell us how she single-handedly captured the enemy.

Wyoming Dems could use some love

Fri Mar 07, 2008 at 07:45:15 PM PDT

Wyoming Dems are enjoying the attention of their upcoming caucuses. I found myself googling my way to the state party website.

I was thinking that it would be fun to lend a hand to the underdog party in Wyoming by making contributions to the party coffers and send a message at the same time. So, here's the idea:

Barack Obama supporters make a $26.00 dollar contribution (the numbers 2&6 being Barack Obama's initials per the telephone numbering system. Hillary Clinton's initials would equal $42, so let's flip them to $24.

Wyoming only gets this kind of attention every 50 years or so, so let's help them enjoy it. Now is likely their best party building oppportunity as well so a few extra bucks now I'm sure would go a long way.

What John Edwards should do

Fri Jan 04, 2008 at 06:46:13 PM PDT

I’m an Edwards fan. I’m irritated by the lack of media coverage of Edwards’ candidacy, pre- and post-Iowa. It seems every media commentator jumps from Obama to Clinton (do not stop at Edwards!) in their assessment of Democratic Party dynamics.

I only catch snippets of John Edwards speeches (I don’t have cable TV and thus am limited to regular TV & web). I observe the most often covered lines from Edwards are about "fighting corporate influence in our government" or some such variant.

Well, I just don’t think it’s connecting. I agree that corporate interests are calling most of the shots, but I don’t think Edwards words are connecting. So, I suggest Edwards team hit the thesaurus and start retooling his stump speech ASAP. In particular, I think Edwards is playing corporations wrong.

Impeachment: Why bother?

Mon Jun 18, 2007 at 06:56:05 PM PDT

This was posted by local activist in Madison, WI on a progressive discussion group. I thought it worthy of sharing:

As individuals we can only do so much at a time, we all have our own priority issues, and what I hear here is an expressed desire to have the full weight of the Democratic Party focused in on what each one of us wants in exchange for our loyalty, whether it’s pushing impeachment, fully finding public education, universal health care, women’s rights, LGBT rights, environmental sustainability, clean energy, lower profits for oil companies, ending the war, getting Democrats elected, etc., etc..

Al Gore wins an Oscar! Share the love...

Among believers in Al Gore running for president, this evening was a milestone in the campaign leading up to Al Gore's run for the presidency. Two Oscars for AIT (An Inconvenient Truth): One for Best Documentary and One for Best Song (congrats Melissa Etheridge).

Dem Candidates' Credibility on the War

Sat Feb 10, 2007 at 06:26:59 AM PDT

John Edwards was on MTP recently and spent some time explaining his vote for the war (or to give Bush the authority....). Barack Obama's been making an issue of his early opposition to the war, and Hillary's been spinning her record. I offer up the following to show the potential candidate with the most credible record on the war:
