Mon Apr 07, 2008 at 05:58:38 AM PDT

The torch relay will follow a six-mile route, beginning at 1 p.m. at McCovey Cove at AT&T Park, following the Embarcadero, past Fisherman's Wharf, and ending at Justin Herman Plaza.

Does Hillary Know How to Lose? (the Al Gore Option)

Fri Mar 28, 2008 at 02:33:06 PM PDT

Is the latest 'Al Gore for president' whisper campaign the last possible option for Hillary to avoid defeat?

The Fact that Obama has beaten her is clearly destroying her personally.  She’s making wild claims about Bosnia, copycats, and has chosen to indulge in religious McCarthyism.

But it's not her fault.  She and Bill simply don't lose.  Even when impeached and humiliated, they were not beaten.

Yet, this time they are up against an Obama: A rare mix of intellectual brilliance, rhetorical majesty, and political shrewdness not seen on the American political scene since Ronald Reagan (minus the intellectual brilliance).

Do they think we're stupid?  Where the hell is Howard Dean on this one?  Is he going to just sit there on his butt and let Billary milk the delegitimized Florida contest for their own benefit?  Do these Clintons have any shame?

SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - Stung by her lopsided loss to Barack Obama in South Carolina, Hillary Rodham Clinton is trying to shift her momentum in Florida - even though its Democratic primary won't count for much.

Breaking: Another Victory For Billary Politics in NV

Sat Jan 19, 2008 at 01:08:34 PM PDT

Bill has broken out in a herpes rash.  The former president, now full-time smear politician, is flapping all over Fox News with allegations of voter fraud.  Clinton camp claims to know nothing about last minute robo-call warning Nevadans about the risk of electing Barack "Hussein" Obama to the Presidency.

I will never vote for a Clinton again.

Draft Gore '08 Family Reunion: where are you now?  w/ poll

Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 10:49:09 AM PDT

Well our favorite candidate did not enter the race.  Instead he went on to win an Oscar, a Nobel Peace prize, and has remained a wart on George w. Bush's ass about climate change.  We are beginning to witness the once unthinkable: large multinational corporations open to serious talk about climate change and a solution to the non-renewable energy crisis.

My question is to you out there who were disappointed that Gore did not run (or has not yet announced- for the diehards in the bunch).  Who are you supporting now?  Why?

race-bait '08: Bill and Hillary find their voice

Fri Jan 11, 2008 at 01:04:34 PM PDT

THE 'HE SPEAKS SO WELL'... RACE-BAIT

Bill and Hillary are not racists.   They are unscrupulous politicians - which means they are experts in exploiting all undercurrents of the American political psyche to their advantage: apparently even racist ones.  In a way that would make Bob Corker blush, they have managed to advance the meme that a scholar who graduated top-of-his-class at Harvard Law and was a professor at one of the most prestigious law schools in the country is nothing but a "naive and inexperienced ...kid".

That's right; the Senator from Illinois is nothing but another black man in a suit who 'SPEAKS SO WELL' and says a bunch of "pretty things"... "shucking and jiving" to and fro but in the end is just an empty suit.

Hillary's alleged "personality" gap

Thu Dec 20, 2007 at 01:34:27 PM PDT

with all of her EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS why does hillary need a personality?

what use is it.  not something that really fits on a resume.  it never was much use for Nixon. His idea of a good time was hoodwinking the gin bottle and shouting profanity at his friends.  Im not suggesting hillary drinks like richard nixon (or that she has friends).  what i am suggesting is that this notion that hillary has to have some kind of "personality" in order to get elected is utter garbage most likely perpetuated by john edwards or the Barack HUSSEIN people.

UPDATE: Kucinich black balled from IOWA debate: "EXPERIENCE COUNTS!"

Thu Dec 13, 2007 at 12:03:21 PM PDT

What's that you say John?  You don't want Dennis to participate in today's Iowa debate?  Shuffle Mr. Kucinich and the rest of the democratic wing of the democratic party upstairs and into the attic so you and your buddy Hillary can hog the floor to yourselves??

Kucinich people tend to have a bit more patience than supporters of other candidates.  Certainly, at a minimum they are more understanding than most (at least from this journalist's perspective).  Perhaps they may forgive Edwards because he means well and has sought forgiveness for his misdeeds in the past (see Iraq, no child left behind, for example)

BUT...

David yepsen, Richard Nixon, and Hillary Clinton all share one thing in common, and it's not their make-up artist... CAN YOU SAY FRAUD!!

'debate': a non-combative, uncompeling tangle of giberish punctuated by cat calls, jeers, hooting and howling and premised on the notion it is a moral affront for 'candidates' to disguish themselves (values/positions) from the 'front-runner' (see also: clinton commercial).

In This Diary We Force You to Vote for Hillary Clinton

what kind of democrat are you, you snivelling windbag -- always carrying on about 'the politics of hope' and such drivel?  you must support her, and you will, you ungreatful, worthless swine of a "democrat".

so take your atavistic swill about "principles" and shove them up your poop shoot.  the 60s are over, (sunny is dead and cher has been embalmed at a wax museum in palm springs), and in case you haven't got the memo: this is the brave new world already in progress.  so get with it buster.

Q: Is the sky blue?

A: well that depends on your definition of blue.  Preconditions must be set.  Envoys must be put in place.  We need to fund a study on what it means to be blue in today's america.  Only I have the sort of experience and forsight to insure that such a determination can be made in respect to such a question.  You can't just go around calling things blue or not blue.  We have to be prudent here and do the necessary leg work.

Baghdad Embassy Fortress: Temple of Folly Built Upon Desert Mirage

Wed May 30, 2007 at 09:57:41 PM PDT

One of the few projects in Iraq that is being completed on schedule and under budget, the $592 million city-within-a-city embassy will house 615 people behind bomb proof walls in a collection of 27 buildings including a pool, gym, "communal" spaces,  and the ever important self-contained water and power supply.  Perhaps the necessity for "communal" spaces is telling of the fact that 'communing' outside the locale of a fortified compound in Iraq would be suicidal.

Indeed, September arrival of the new embassy is welcome news to State Department staff now conducting diplomacy smartly dressed in designer flak jackets and helmets after escalated shelling and mortar attacks in green zone this month.  Perhaps somewhere in their plans embassy architects should remember to include a "large" roof suitable for 'mass airlift'...

Hellbound: 2008 Campaign Trail and the Culture of Death (Valley)

Mon May 28, 2007 at 08:31:36 PM PDT

After aspiring to the heights of the Sierra Nevada, the North American continent gives up on life.   Heading eastward from highway 395, the road stumbles along an outpost of black mounds before a relentless plunge into the furnace of doom and despair known as Death Valley.  By day, Buzzards browse high on the stale air.  By night, Jack rabbits stare into the stove pipe wind in blurry-eyed paranoia.

Cars wither on the roadside, unable to make escape.  Radiators melt like swiss cheese on a microwaved turkey sandwich.  How easy is that road which leads downward to hell, and how impossible is that which leads up out of it...
