Bob Barr: Libertarian version of Ralph Nader?

Mon Apr 07, 2008 at 07:01:31 AM PDT

I commented on this in a 60 Minutes diary last night regarding Steve Kroft's interview w/ Doug Feith.  After 60 Minutes, I was channel-surfing looking for news on the Mark Penn situation, which had broken while I was watching a lazy Sunday afternoon movie.

Since CNN & MSNBC were running taped programming at 8pm in the East, I ended up on Geraldo At Large on Fox (oof!).  I was surprised that rather than leading with Mark Penn, Geraldo's first story was that Bob Barr has an announced an exploratory committee for a possible run on a Libertarian ticket.  Bob Barr appeared as a guest, and confirmed.  Well folks, if he decides to run, it will make this already-interesting campaign season even more so.

Repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

Sat Feb 24, 2007 at 03:38:56 PM PDT

According to Bill in Portland Maine in his Cheers & Jeers: Wednesday on Feb 21:

Only 18 percent think the military's Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy "definitely" or "probably" will be lifted in 2007.

It seems that we might be finding out sooner rather than later.  Follow this first time diarist as I make the leap from Intro to Body below...::plugging my nose, closing my eyes, and springing off the high-dive::
