Its about Change: Edwards 2nd in Iowa and its just getting started
Thu Jan 03, 2008 at 09:01:21 PM PDT
The media counted him out. The pundits dismissed him. The elite riduculed him, said he was "angry". His opponents outspent him - by vast unheard of ammounts. And yet John Edwards message of change - has become THE message of the 2008 elections. For Democrats, and even Republicans. Who put out the health care plan for universal health care? Who was the first candidate to see that we need to tax wealth the same as we tax work? Who is the Democrat that rejects leaving 10s of thousands of troops in Iraq for "training" of Iraq troops indefinitely? Who was the first to put out a tough plan to prevent and end disastrous climage change that set the bar for others? Who constantly speaks out for the forgotten STILL struggling in New Orleans and the Gulf area?
That democrat is John Edwards. And his fight isn't over. Its moved to Round 2. And I hear the bell ringing.
Edwards: We need an independent investigation for CIA tapes
Sat Dec 15, 2007 at 02:36:30 PM PDT
Everyone already knows about revelations that the CIA had destroyed footage of its "interrogation techniques" used on detainees - which makes it even more obvious that they had something to hide. And that something was most likely torture. And that apparently many Democratic leaders actually knew about it.
John Edwards was asked about his response to this and since it hasn't gotten much notice, thought I would pass it on. The gist is we can't trust Bush's DOJ to investigate this - we need an independent investigation with the ability to prosecute.
Read on for more details.
The Clinton's response to Nafta criticism - this certainly isn't "mudslinging" is it?
Mon Nov 19, 2007 at 08:59:56 AM PDT
After the recent Las Vegas debate the press played up Clinton's debate response to the recent criticims from John Edwards and Barack Obama on her voting record and an inability to give straight answers regarding her position on various important issues, including trade issues. Remember this?
And I don't mind taking hits on my record on issues, but when somebody starts throwing mud, at least we can hope that it's both accurate and not right out of the Republican playbook.
Its a good point she made, even if it was off the mark related to Edwards specific criticisms of her, which if anything, were issue-based criticisms from the left - not the right.
So why isn't her campaign listening?
