This is a very brief notice concerning the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count. As many of you know, this non-profit site run by private researchers has provided the best and most up to date information concerning those killed in Iraq, particularly US troops killed there, in the world. They have a breakdown of the different periods of the war as determined by significant political and military events. They have, as of today, officially designated a sixth phase of the war and have begun calculating the losses for the period beginning 1 February 2007, the beginning of "the surge", as a distinct and separate period of this conflict. And the result is striking.
