So I tried posting at TaylorMarsh.com...
Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 05:39:35 PM PDT
It was pretty hard wading through the garbage.
But what I tried to post I thought was innocuous enough:
I'm confused... isn't this a site for Democrats and Liberals? You know, the "antidote to right-wing radio." So why all the love for McCain? The differences between Hillary and Obama are miniscule compared to the policy differences between Hillary/Obama and McSame. Isn't it more important that feminist and Democratic policies get promoted in the White House than your particular candidate gets the nomination? If not, does that mean you belong to a personality cult?
My posting was quickly moderated out of existence. Fortunately, the moderators were there to leave such gemtastic comments (in the same thread):
A Reality-Based Community
Fri Mar 07, 2008 at 01:52:30 AM PDT
Cognitive Dissonance - This occurs when external reality conflicts with internal reality. It's a psychologically painful phenomenon that is resolved in two ways.
- Realize that one's internal reality may be incorrect, and correspondingly readjust one's internal reality to match external reality.
- Refuse to admit one's internal reality is incorrect, and begin to selectively ignore external realities that conflict with one's internal reality (aka, the GBCW diary).
Breaking!! Hillary photo doctored to look more human!

BREAKING - U.S. Government Slaps Boeing in the Face (Updated)
Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 05:18:16 PM PDT
From CNN:
The U.S. Air Force on Friday announced one of the largest military acquisition programs in U.S. history, saying the service had chosen Northrop Grumman over Boeing to replace its aging air refueling tanker fleet.
Why is this important? Because it shows our Federal Government under the Bush administration doesn't give a SHIT about our falling dollar. Boeing, an American aviation company based in Washington, was competing with Northrop Grumman, for a $40B defense contract. Northrop Grumman will use Airbus, a European company, to construct the frames for the aircraft. Our federal government, even at this critical juncture in our economic history, is resorting to massive outsourcing to service its needs.
"Personology": CNN Promotes Racist Pseudoscience
Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 09:19:42 PM PDT
I know everyone's obsessed with the primaries right now, but I believe this is important. This adds more credence to the growing belief that CNN is quickly becoming nothing more than a Faux News Yellow Journalism wannabe.
Today they reported on a subject called "Personology." From Wikipedia:
the field was developed in the 1930s by Edward Vincent Jones, a Los Angeles Circuit Court judge, who took notes on the behavioral patterns of those who appeared in his courtroom, and eventually "proved" that he could predict people's behavior by observing their facial features and other physical attributes.
Glenn Beck: Progressives love murder and torture
Sat Feb 23, 2008 at 04:27:19 PM PDT
at least according to Glenn Beck. I'm watching his Saturday show right now. Why the fuck is this man on the air? Shame on you, CNN!
Let me recap his twisted logic:
- Fidel Castro was a brutal, murderous dictator
- Eight Hollywood actors met with Castro and said he wasn't as bad as he was made to be
- Therefore, those eight Hollywood actors love Castro
- Therefore, all Hollywood actors love Castro
- Hollywood actors are progressives
- Therefore, all progressives love murder and torture
This wouldn't pass the sniff test of an intelligent 5 year old. Why is this charlatan still on the air? Is CNN no better than Faux News? Is this what we can expect from CNN's new slogan, "Diverse as You" ? Don't even pretend to be objective, just sink wherever you have to for ratings?
Fabulous investment opportunity!!

The Intrade prediction market currently has Hillary pegged at a 6.1% chance to become the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee, and Obama at 81% to become the Presidential nominee. This means that Intraders think it that the odds of Hillary becoming Obama's VP at less than 1 in 13.
Ridiculous! Now, I don't think it's particularly likely that Hillary becomes the VP. Maybe it's 1 in 4, maybe 1 in 5. But certainly not 1 in 13. Hillary brings a lot of negatives to an Obama ticket, but she also brings a TON of positives.
Michelle Obama: APOLOGIZE
Tue Feb 19, 2008 at 11:13:55 PM PDT
and the sooner the better. I am a strong Obama supporter, but I am by no means immune to seeing faults in my candidate or his close confidantes. Today Michelle Obama made a tremendous gaffe. For those of you not already aware, she said, "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country..."
Later she clarified that,. "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country..." Not good enough Michelle. You stepped in it this time. You need to wipe your feet. You need to apologize, emphatically and forcefully.
I want you to win, and I want you to win BIG... and it's going to be more difficult if a meme that "Michelle Obama is unpatriotic AND full of herself" gets traction, especially since Senator Obama is running on a campaign of unity and moving beyond politics-as-usual. Republicans are going to push this quote with half a billion dollars of attack money.
Hillary's Health Care Mandate is a REGRESSIVE TAX
Sun Feb 03, 2008 at 02:50:51 PM PDT
(This will be a brief diary, have a flight to catch soon, so I apologize in advance).
Think about it. Bob makes $72k per year, Jane makes $36k per year. Both have to pay $6000 for health insurance over the course of the year. This turns out to be 8.3% of Bob's income, but ends up being 16.6% of Jane's income. Subsidies will not make up the full difference here.
The primary difference between Hillary's plan and Obama's is the lack of a mandate. And that's the difference between offering people an affordable option for health insurance and creating a regressive tax. It's also the difference between success and defeat in Congress. Hillary's regressive idea will not pass muster in Congress, and will lose us many votes in November, and not only that, it is not a progressive plan, it's the same plan Mitt Romney created in Massachusetts. The only thing her plan has going for it is it's more likely to receive the support of insurance companies who would love more corporate welfare going their way!
Paul Krugman: Screw Unity, Vote Hillary
Mon Jan 28, 2008 at 02:56:26 AM PDT
Read the original article here - http://www.nytimes.com/.... My diary was hastily crafted at 3am in the morning whilst I was butt-tired and has now been butchered and sacrificed on the holy altar of Fair Use. So if anything is confused, read the original article. Or just ignore my diary. That's fine too. It's pretty rambly.
Anyway.
In Paul Krugman's latest op-ed piece against Obama, he claims that Obama supporters are forgetting the past:
It’s starting to feel a bit like 1992 again. A Bush is in the White House, the economy is a mess, and there’s a candidate who, in the view of a number of observers, is running on a message of hope, of moving past partisan differences, that resembles Bill Clinton’s campaign 16 years ago.
Poll: If a Republican wins in '08
Tue Nov 27, 2007 at 01:04:07 AM PDT
will you leave the country? And where do you want to go?
How much idiocy among your fellow Americans are you willing to put up with? After Bush, Republicans shouldn't even be on the radar, yet they trail Democrats by mere single-digits in most polls for the Presidency (and in some cases, even lead Democrats). This is fucking ridiculous. The only race for the Presidency, after Bush embarrassed the entire country before the world, should be the Democratic primary.
Due to monetary constraints I myself will not likely leave the country in '08 if a Republican wins, but I'll save up for it and try to do it in '09 or '10. I'm thinking Canada or, more likely, Japan (I just love their culture).
What about you?
Why the @!^&$ do you support Hillary Clinton?
Sat Nov 17, 2007 at 11:45:02 PM PDT
DailyKos is a rather brutal place for Hillary supporters. Many on this site believe that we are anything from deluded or foolish, to insane, to outright evil. The right rail of diaries is typically an avalanche of rec'd mud aimed at the Democrat front-runner.
It's time to fight back.
Please list 3 reasons why the $&#@* you support Hillary Clinton. They don't have to be original. They don't have to be your top 3. But they do have to be positive.
I'll start.
Hillary: the most inspiring candidate (update 3)
Sat Nov 03, 2007 at 10:50:46 PM PDT
Update 1: This diary began with my tip jar, followed by many positive comments about Hillary. About 20 minutes later, jillian's very skeptical comment was moved to the top, along with several other highly negative comments about Hillary. What's the deal with that, Kos?
Update 2: It appears the timestamp has been altered on my tip jar. This makes it appear as if my tip jar was posted much later than the other comments, but I assure you it was not. It's daylight savings time tonight, and as a software engineer I'm well-aware that many software bugs related to timestamping show up during daylight savings time. Hopefully this was just a software hiccup.
Dissecting a Cyborg: An Ex-Mormon Perspective on Mitt Romney
Tue Jun 19, 2007 at 10:54:24 PM PDT
By now, almost everyone is familiar with the Cyborg antics of Mitt Romney. If not, I recommend watching this (somewhat long) video, entitled A Mitt Romney Christmas, posted on the candidate's website. Romney attempts to come across as the archetypical corporate American. He works hard, he loves his family, he's intelligent and prepared, he's rich, well-groomed, well-spoken, agile, and powerful. There's only one problem. He's Mormon. From here all other problems begin to flow.
