Today, I voted for a black man
Tue Feb 05, 2008 at 08:52:48 PM PDT
And I cast that vote with a sense of pride.
Number one: as a New Yorker and a former Californian, this is the first time that I voted in a primary that was early enough to matter.
Number two: my choices on the ballot did not seem limited to straight white males (sorry, but how many minorities and women have caused wars and huge death tolls).
Number three: There was a sense of energy in New York that infused me with an eagerness that demanded I go to the polls.
Message to Huckabee
Tue Dec 18, 2007 at 06:23:46 PM PDT
My partner sent this to Huckabee..
Mike Huckabee is a religious bigot. He equates the gay tax-paying citizens of this country with liars and thieves. He believes that the Universe is less than 6,000 years old. He rejects evolution.
Mr. Huckabee: Have you ever taken a family member to see a doctor? Have you, or anyone in your immediate family ever taken an aspirin? Darwinian Evolution is the backbone of modern biology. The studied ability of viruses to replicate themselves is founded in Evolution.
Do you see a doctor when you get sick, or do you forgo medical science, and simply pray to Jesus to make you better?
The people of this country are free to worship in any way that they choose. They are also free NOT TO WORSHIP.
I don’t think you’re charming, Huckabee – and I don’t think you are in any way qualified to hold National Office in this country.
You are a religious zealot. You are a bigot. Get lost.
Sincerely,
Cameron Folmar
Richardson for Senate

This post http://politicalwire.com/... in Political Wire intrigued me. I still wish he was doing better in the Presidential primaries. But, truth be told, I think that having him in the Senate would be good for this county. Maybe his campaign will gain speed. But, if not, his previous experience would be invaluable.
The Lobbyists have Brainwashed Hillary

Once upon a time there was a woman who wanted to change the world. One of the things she wanted to do was provide health care to every American Citizen. But it was not to be. These mean, bloated, corporate fat cats that run the HMOs didn't want their power and more importantly, their stock options taken away from them. So they sent their army down to Washington. And a great battle was joined. The lobbyists spent money....lots of money....millions of dollars to defeat her. And defeat her they did. Her followers, who controlled the House of Representatives, couldn't even get their own party to vote on the bill. And so health care reform died.
