This is an updated version of a diary I posted on MyDD a week ago.  I would have posted it here but my account was new so I had to wait.  I posted it here yesterday, but due to some initial comments that were made about the diary that led to repeated requests to delete and repost today I have decided to do just that. Regardless of what happens today this will be the last time that I post this as I do not want to keep posting the same diary.

My name is Michael Conrad. I am a General Director with Team Edwards, a coalition of supporters working together to nominate and elect John Edwards. We are in no way affiliated with the Edwards campaign though we do encourage members to volunteer for and contribute to the Edwards campaign.

I am writing this for two reasons.  One is to introduce Team Edwards to other supporters of John Edwards.  

The second, and far more important reason, is to lay out a few reasons for supporting John Edwards that I feel have been overlooked.  There many reasons to support John Edwards. Instead of listing all of them here I think it would be best if I did this in a series. Consider this the first part.
