Joe McCarthy Rides Again!
Wed Nov 21, 2007 at 06:08:16 AM PDT
Think. Would you enjoy living in country where the House Un-American Activities Committee not just reformed but made a nationwide tour? Would you like to witness crackdowns of public dissent that include kangaroo trials, convictions, and even death sentences all occuring in places like New York or even Topeka Kansas?
What if you just thought of getting rid of this government and asked some friends to join you about protesting, possibly publishing your dissent and you are thrown in prison for you thoughts?

Delay Poll (vote now)
Wed Sep 28, 2005 at 02:48:54 PM PDT
My N. Texas wingnut NBC station is agast that Tom Delay is being indicted, you know, since he's such a good christian and all. After stomaching the report, they have a viewer poll:
Is the indictment of Tom Delay a political witchhunt?
http://www.nbc5i.com/firstatfour/index.html
So far 55% yes, 45% no, 1% unsure with only over a thousand responding so far.
Please lend your clicky to the cause Kossacks. Thanks!
Indoctrination of our youth
Thu Sep 15, 2005 at 11:17:14 AM PDT
I wanted to make a comment to a previous diary regarding the ruling on the pledge(
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/9/15/111142/784#41), but found I had much more to say, so here it is.
The diarist wrote about how he felt having children recite the pledge. The pledge is hardly a worry when I have a "Freedom Celebration" at my childs elementary school. This was to entail a parade and performance where the kids were to honor our troops, police, and firefighters.

Lest we all forget...
Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 09:22:11 PM PDT
I Remember an article last election by Ron Suskind about the comment made by someone in the White House saying we were all wrong because we were reality based, and that they write their own history and we wouldn't figure out what was going on until it was too late. (sorry can't link, it's been archived at the NYT)
Mrs. Sheehan and the teachings
Sun Aug 14, 2005 at 07:30:33 AM PDT
...of Christ that is. Now I will never claim to be an expert or even an adherent to Christianity but there is a core teaching or truth to all religions that humanity can benefit from. When I see what Mrs. Sheehan is doing in Crawford I see one of Christ's teachings in action. And if I remember right, this is "Justice Sunday" and I thought I would illustrate the justice we have going on right now.

Source. What Source?
Tue Jul 12, 2005 at 08:35:22 AM PDT
I'm sorry, but with the media frenzy regarding poor Judith Miller and Matt Cooper's predicament regarding our traitor Karl Rove I just have to call "Bull Shit."
The First Amendment is a testament to free nations, that we are able to speak freely and to learn the truth from a free press. But it is disgusting when the press hides behind it to keep themselves from being prosecuted for a crime.
Sensenbrenner on C-Span NOW
Thu Jun 16, 2005 at 06:21:39 PM PDT
Jerry Nadler entered a resolution about Sensenbrenners bad behavior. And right on cue, SEnsenbrenner is invoking 9-11, and all the stuff he did for the patriot act....but not his behavior during the hearing.
God it's good. His nose stretched across the room when he denied his own behavior that was caught on tape.

Knitting a cover for 2006

I don't diary too much because I'm not as articulate as those of you here. But I just had to write my 2 cents when I read about Tom Delay giving a speech to his paranoid base.

Isn't this Schiavo mess the same MO we have seen in the past? They are knitting a new reality with Terry Schiavo. Let me explain.
"Catch the Illegal Immigrant" Game.
Tue Feb 08, 2005 at 07:55:06 PM PDT
Wow, I'm so glad I live in Texas. NOT.
Those Young Conservative Texans certainly benefited from Gov., now preznit Bush's education reforms. They roll play in order to learn right-wing agenda, by playing the "Catch the Illegal Immigrant" game on the University of North Texas campus. How much is it per year to go there?
"I just called to say 'I hate you'"
Sat Jan 15, 2005 at 03:17:19 AM PDT
Oh my. From the Asia Times, an article about American's calling India Call Centers just to piss people off. Much of the article covers the antics of a couple radio jockey's who parody a similar situtation, but some idiots are actually doing it.
Sounds to me more like some mislead Bush voters who need to take responsibility for their vote.
