Our 2 Trillion Dollar Nest Egg?

Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 04:59:13 AM PDT

Quick show of hands here: Who thinks the Oil companies are stupid?

Morally bankrupt yes, stupid no.
If they did not know there was 10 billion or so barrels of oil under ANWR do you think they’d have spent tens of millions of dollars lobbying congress to allow them access?
But maybe the best way to preserve ANWR and fight global warming is that we drill there.
When I say "we" however I am referring to "we the people" not we the corporate interests buying and selling our political leaders.
I mean "we the people" as in the federally owned the Army Corp of Engineers and Department of Energy which runs the SPR Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Before I continue any further, let me state that ANWR’s value as a national environmental treasure is priceless& Anything done inside ANWR should be done with priority one being the preservation native species.

How can drilling in ANWR can be a net environmental positive?

"I told you so!" & the coming smears.

Fri Jun 20, 2008 at 02:52:57 AM PDT

First off: I am a huge HUGE Obama supporter.  I post this not to scare you but to inform you on what I believe is coming and how we can stop it

People love to say this.  "I told you so!".   Everyone loves to believe they know more than everyone else, and never more so than when they’ve been over ruled.
Some Clinton backers and especially the PUMAs would love nothing more than to see Obama falter.
A small a group as it may be, with the right amplification and timing, this group of "disaffected Democrats" could cast enough doubt to skew polls for a week or more.

So as the Boy Scouts say "BE PREPARED"

Hope Mobile V 1.0

Wed Jun 18, 2008 at 04:00:54 PM PDT

I Posted this Diary (LINK) a few weeks ago asking for input on the "Hope Mobile".

I did not get many responses but here's the end result.

Tomorrow's an historic day, let us not forget...

Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 02:07:07 PM PDT

Those that spent their life working to combat inequality, and working to heal the wounds of social injustice, but left us too soon to share in this moment.

UPDATE:(We are at $700 COME ON FELLOW KOSSACKS!  Celebrate the end of this Primary with a Donation to Obama.. let's hit $2008)

My Remembrance goes to  Dr. Violet Onyeji

She did countless hours of humanitarian works through the Nigerian Society of Fort Wayne Indiana and come election time she could be counted on to get out and support progressive candidates.   She was the beloved wife of Benson Onyeji, who gave up his house to three other New Yorkers and myself for 5 days while we did GOTV for the Indiana primary.  She was lost to cancer in 2005, So I dedicated my fund raising page on BarackObama.com (HERE.) to her memory, and the memory of all the others who left us too soon.

2000 was not about "counting" it was about "interpreting".

Sat May 31, 2008 at 12:54:04 PM PDT

We knew the number of votes cast in FL in 2000, what we also knew was that the interpretation  of those votes was wrong.
Thousands of old Jewish folks voting for Pat Buchanan?
Thousands more not registering a vote at all?
It's about as absurd as Obama getting Zero votes in MI

Just like this year bad political leadership caused an election that needed to be evaluated and reinterpreted.

In 2000 it was outdated voting machines using punch cards.
Machines that had "catch bins" so packed with chads that no matter how hard you jammed you could not register your vote.
This year a failure of political leadership caused a primary that EVERYONE agreed would not count.

What Hillary is asking for is the exact opposite of 2000.  "We know it was flawed (and therefore not representative of the will of the people), but let's not evaluate it. Let's change the rules at the 11th hour and count it as-is."

The Missing M1 Rifle

Thu May 29, 2008 at 05:01:22 AM PDT

This Monday the Lynbrook, NY, Memorial day parade was marched for the first time in over 50 years without Frank Tosner. He was my uncle, WWII veteran, and patriot, who passed away  earlier this year at the age of 84.  As I no longer live in Lynbrook, the last time I saw him march in the parade was 3 years ago.

He and his wife Eileen had lost two sons, my cousins Tommy and Frank Jr. (Brother Bonaventure as he was known upon becoming a Franciscan brother) to cancer.
My aunt Eileen took sanctuary from the pains of her life at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lynbrook.  She went there almost daily.
Eileen survived the death of two sons, a childhood of poverty and horrible abuse, but she was no match for the mad man with a semi-automatic rifle that opened fire on the parishioners of "Our Lady of Peace" church on March 13th 2002.  When the smoke cleared my aunt and Father Lawrence "Larry" Penzes were dead.

This diary ->(here) got thinking about the Keynote and who should give it.

Since this campaign will be won or lost in the trenches in the door to door fight for votes I think a volunteer should give it.

He's what I would say:

COUNT ALL THE VOTES IN FL!

Wed May 21, 2008 at 02:07:12 PM PDT

Little know fact: Clinton only got 49.8 % of the vote in FL.
If you really count ALL the votes in FL you end up with a 50/50 split.
How?
Obama obviously gets his own delegates buy the other 18% would also go to him by proxy:
Biden -> SUPPORTS OBAMA
Kucinich-> SUPPORTS OBAMA
Richardson -> SUPPORTS OBAMA
Dodd-> SUPPORTS OBAMA
Edwards -> SUPPORTS OBAMA

With that in mind, check out the math below the fold..

From the ground in Fort Wayne IN.... The Night he became the NOMINEE

Wed May 07, 2008 at 08:24:30 AM PDT

Disclaimer:  I speak as a volunteer not in any official campaign capacity..

I drove down here 13 hours from NYC to Fort Wayne Indiana, with 3 strangers who are now great friends, to help finish this primary..  WE DID!

About 100 of us Allen county workers packed a Mexican resturant

Updated: To the spirits that drive us... Dr. Violet Onyeji

UPDATE:(We are at $700 COME ON FELLOW KOSSACKS!  Celebrate the RBC Ruling and end of this Primary with a Donation to Obama.. let's hit $2008)

The Skinny:
I was down in Indiana helping the Obama campaign wrap up the nomination.  The man who put me up in his house for 5 days lost his wife to cancer in 2005, So I dedicated my fund raising page on BarackObama.com (HERE.) to her memory, and the memory of all the others who left us too soon.

OFFICIALLY A MOVEMENT

Mon May 05, 2008 at 06:12:54 AM PDT

Barrack decided to have a little "Picnic" in Fort Wayne IN Sunday.  This was last minute thing, announced Saturday morning.  With very little advertising and just canvassers handing out fliers an estimated 4,700 people showed up.      I have a sister who grew in the 60’s I’m 17 years younger so I was a child of the eighties, but I always felt a connection to that time and longed to be a part of a real cultural revolution to more inclusive and peaceful society.   I always felt I had been born two decades too late....    Not anymore.

Clinton can have Rocky we’ll take Rocky IV

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 10:31:15 PM PDT

First of all, Rocky looses in the first movie.
Secondly, we can do without the subtle black vs. white reminders. (Obama is above that)  Rocky IV, you’ll remember, was the one with Drago the Russian boxer.

Thirdly, the story line is more appropriate.....more below

Ed, it’s the Kool-Aid we’re not drinking

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 01:36:41 AM PDT

that makes us Obama supporters.

It was fitting that Ed Rendell chose to disparage Obama supporters with his Kool-Aid remark in a focus group session with Frank Luntz   He’s so full of Kool-Aid I half expect him to burst through my kitchen wall any minute.    This is a guy who's been paid millions by the GOP to "shape the language" around their damaging policies.   This is guy who will look at you with a straight face and tell you "The Healthy Forests Initiative", "Death tax", and "Climate Change" are actually "clarifications" not obfuscations.

This is guys who’s job it is to find the most misleading confusing terms to promote and apply to a position or product so that public has no idea what it’s getting.   He is a guru of spin.
