DSCC Spotlights Brad Carson in OK
Thu Dec 18, 2003 at 08:50:43 PM PDT
Just got an email from the DSCC about Brad Carson running for the Senate in OK -- Here is some info:
Brad Carson was elected November 7, 2000 as the Congressman for the Second District of Oklahoma and was sworn in on January 4, 2001. He is the only enrolled Native American tribal member of the United States House of Representatives, and is the Vice-Chair of the Congressional Native American Caucus.
At his announcement for US Senate, Carson pointed to a record that he said showed he had worked for better conditions in nursing homes, promoted economic development in rural Oklahoma and helped build three community health centers "while others ignored the mounting health care crisis in our state."
Carson is trying "to create the largest grassroots effort in the history of politics"
Anyway go help him out: http://www.bradcarson.com
GOP Diversity
Mon Dec 08, 2003 at 02:46:04 PM PDT
Over at
NotGeniuses last week, I saw a link to a video at the RNC called
Yes! I am a Republican. It's a round-up of the GOP talking points peppered with the comments of ordinary Americans just like you and me
tm.
Anyway, I just wanted to highlight that at least two of the participants are connected GOP shills: Pastor Lurone Jennings (met with Bush after the Africa trip, but is billed as a 20 year educator) and Ana Gamonal (billed as an "At home mom" in the video, but who is actually an ex-RNC director). I have no doubt that they are also what the RNC says they are, but they are hardly random Republicans.
When you have a truly diverse party, you don't need to keep calling on the same two people over and over again.
