Today I got an email from the DNC asking for money and to join a county wide organization. I haven't been on their email list for a couple of years since I asked to be removed following the vote to start the Iraq war. I did write them last week however asking them to try and find a resolution to the early Florida primary issue.

As a lifelong Democrat in Florida, I find it very discouraging that my vote may not count toward the selection of the Democratic presidential candidate in 2008. It's one of the only reasons I haven't dropped out of the party all together following all the funding and refunding of the Iraq war, the FISA vote, the lack of leadership in stopping the BushCo assault of the Constitution, our courts and our freedoms.

I was also surprised by a recent poll on the Daily Kos showing a good number of people feel the penalities being placed on Florida were not too severe. I feel a good portion of the blame for the earlier primary date can be placed on the state's Republican governor and both houses controlled by the Republicans.
