First I'd like to congratulate Senator Barack Obama and his campaign for a remarkable, hard-fought victory last night in Iowa. The Obamas looked beautiful on stage--an image of historical-making proportions. They are proud and energized. And rightly so.

And it's a big story.

But, hello? Why is the media going on and on about Senator John McCain--who finished a statistical 4th place in the GOP Iowa race--without mentioning John Edwards, who finished 2nd last night in the Democratic race?

Kudos to Olbermann and Maddow, for having frank discussions on live air about the core issue of the Bush Presidency and legacy. That issue is immense pillaging of our hardearned taxpayer money being squandered with no end in sight--and NO OVERSIGHT--by the cronies, or friendlies of the Bush/Cheney cabal. Whether it's gross war-profiteering in Iraq/Afghanistan or the Homeland Security debacle here at home, there's no shortage of investigations for the HJC and/or Waxman, Congress to pursue.

How can the avarice, the downright greed of this administration, remain so deftly covered under the guise of National Security and "The fight against terroism?"

I don't know what's worse at this point: The blatant corruption of our current adminstration or the blatant unwillingness and pussyfooting of our Democratic-Controlled Congress in pursuing holding these depraved bastards accountable. I present Ms. Maddow and Mr. Olbermann for your viewing pleasure if you haven't had the occasion to watch.

So I happily began reading this book recently borrowed from the library titled: Censored 2007 The Top 25 Censored News Stories by Peter Phillips and Project Censored. It's the 30th Anniversary Edition, published by Seven Stories Press and authored by various respected, real journalists. This book is fantastic, and not for the faint of heart. Let's hope that what happens in Vegas really stays there. I watched the entirety of the debate last night--with the exclusion of the Lou Dobbs Illegal Aliens pre-debate show. (Seriously, is Dobbs' brain scrambled eggs or what? Here's to hoping a delivery of a swift kick to the mouth arrives soon for him.)

We should all keep the topic of Impeachment on the table here at DK until the House Judiciary Committee shows some spark of willingness to pursue an investigation against Vice President Richard Cheney as per House Resolution 333--Thank you again Hon. Representative Dennis Kucinich!!

SNARK!!! Saturday morning was off to promising start out here in Northern New Jersey. The birds sang a weekend song for me as my coffee seeped into the caraffe--Gosh, I love that aroma! So American. Then off I went to catch a little MSM--you know, I have to stay informed as best I can (snark). Tuned to MSNBC--you know the folks that bring us the likes of Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Naomi Wolf, Jeremy Scahill, Ed Shultz, and all the compelling commentary not seen anywhere else by the heroes of VoteVets.org.

Only 3 minutes into Alex Witt's responsible "reporting" was it all it took before the television was turned off with utter disgust. The coffee spilled on my lap. Shit! Even the damn birds' singing is annoying me.
