Warren Buffet/Hillary Clinton SF Event - Part II

Thu Dec 13, 2007 at 05:31:39 PM PDT

Yesterday, I published Part 1 of this event.

Today I am going with Part II. It is based on an idea suggested by my 75 yr old. neighbor's son over thanksgiving weekend.  My neighbor is currently deciding between Biden or Richardson while I have made unsuccessful attempts in getting her to support Hillary.  Her son is currently undecided; disappointed with Obama; he cannot/will not support Edwards, is wary of Hillary and thinks Biden has no chance. So over thanksgiving, I tried to get my neighbor to attend the Hillary/Buffet show in SF.  She did not want to pay the minimum amount.  That was understandable but the very fact Warren was going to be with Hillary seemed to suggest that she is acceptable and worth looking at; if not for the primary then at least in the GE if she were the nominee.

Her son said he loves Buffet! This from a guy who earns just a little over minimum wage with no healthcare coverage, loves the unions and wants a tough stand against illegal immigration.  I was pleasantly surprised when my neighbor said that her son thinks Warren should be president!  Well after attending this event I think I agree.

Buffet/Hillary SF Luncheon - Part I

Wed Dec 12, 2007 at 09:50:25 AM PDT

On a day when the Feds. cut interest rate and the Dow fell almost 300 point in the last 90 minutes of trading, it was understandable that the Hillary/Warren forum in San Francisco was a little late in starting.  And yes it was a fundraiser as well but it covered some great moments.

But Mayor Gavin Newsome said it right when introducing
"A great PUBLIC SERVANT with a great PHILANTHROPIST" having a relaxed conversation on the economy, investments and the role of government.

While the video of this conversation has not yet been posted, the press interview with CNBC can be seen here:

Women Leaders/Heads of States

Wed Nov 28, 2007 at 05:12:34 PM PDT

I got the idea for this diary during a local Hillary meeting when some undeciders were not aware of strong elected women around the world.  The undeciders had concerns about electing a woman in the United States; others argued that England was ruled by the Queen so a woman leader is acceptable; they forgot that the Queen is not a ruler and that the United Kingdon elected their woman prime mimister in the 1980's.

So I thought this topic on women leaders needed a separate mention.

Disclosure:  I am a Hillary supporter but before I decided I looked at other candidates.  It goes without saying that in election 2008, there is a choice for Americans in both parties to go beyond any bias they may have had towards the gender, religion or ethnicity of an American Presidential candidate.

Of course as Hillary say, she is not asking to be elected because she is a woman, but becuase is the best candidate for the Democrats!
