Hampton Roads Surprise for Obama - Feel the Momentum

Mon Feb 11, 2008 at 01:02:51 PM PDT

crossposted at Not Larry Sabato

Growing up in Virginia Beach, I never knew Virginia Beach or Hampton Roads for that matter to be a "political" area.  Generally low turnout in primaries and generals reinforced that idea.  Even in 2004, when working for Gen. Wesley Clark in Virginia Beach, we had trouble garnering a large crowd for his visit 2 days before the primary (I believe we ended up with about 500 people at VA Wesleyan).   Last night changed all of my long held beliefs about the political scene in Hampton Roads.

WEBB WINS!

Tue Nov 07, 2006 at 08:48:19 PM PDT

How can we predict this?

Currently Allen is ahead by less than 5K votes.  The remaining votes are absentees and from heavily Democratic Richmond precincts.

We are predicting a 5K margin in absentees from Fairfax and a 2K vote margin from Richmond.  1K Webb votes remain from Prince William.  Newport News absentees also remain.

Webb will likely win by 1-3K votes, there will surely be a recount but at least an initial Webb victory.

Mark Warner Launches PAC website

Mon Nov 14, 2005 at 12:28:21 PM PDT

Make Warner has launched his website to go along with his new national PAC, called Forward Together.

Mark Warner PAC

After Tim Kaine's strong showing in Virginia last week, Governor Warner has vaulted into the national spotlight.  What better way to capitalize on that momentum then to launch a website???

A true national contender, even the SC Democratic Chairmen has already endorsed Governor Warner for President saying
"I've never met the guy, but he ought to be our nominee in '08."

Fire Armando

Fri Sep 16, 2005 at 11:16:22 AM PDT

After this ridiculous post and his immature bahvior on the thread, I think Kos should seriously consider dumping him from this blog.  It's completely inappropriate to attack readers for stating their opinions, considering that is exactly the same thing Armando is doing.  HYPOCRITE!

I read Kos for the insightful, thoughtout posts, not the inflammatory, ignorant ones, which is exaclty what Armando has done.  Evidence would be nice, but he offers none, just goes on the attack at people who disagree with him.  It's out of hand. Update: There's a poll!
