KY-Pres: Request for Obama campaign info
Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 11:41:36 AM PDT
Hey all y'all,
How can I contact the Lexington, Kentucky office of the Obama campaign in Kentucky?
Who is the chair of the new field office?
HEY MEDIA - 8.6% is NOT a double-digit victory - time to go back to school
Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 07:49:41 AM PDT
As of 9:20 CST, the Pennsylvania Secretary of State has the following results:
*** 9,203 out of 9,264 Districts (99.34%) Reporting Statewide ***
Clinton, Hillary 1,237,696 54.3%
Obama, Barack 1,043,174 45.7%
Obama: Here's a tip for the speech - Patriotism, Patriotism, Patriotism!
Mon Mar 17, 2008 at 08:11:12 PM PDT
I noticed that Obama has struggled to win counties in Appalachia (most notably western Virginia and Maryland, southeastern Ohio, western Tennessee and northern Alabama and Georgia) and since I used to live in eastern Kentucky, I decided to discuss his candidacy with some of my former coworkers, most of whom consider themselves conservatives, yet are not Bush fans. After their counsel, I believe that we found a possible way to neutralize the Wright issue.
The American electorate is quite massive and diverse. While most voters base their choice on Economic and Social issues, there are millions that allow their perceptions of each candidate's patriotism as a deciding factor. I had a chance to talk to a few people who are frustrated with Bush, and might be open to voting for Barack. But they wonder if he's patriotic enough.
Why we do not support Hillary Clinton (and what can be done about it)
Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 03:05:02 PM PDT
I am going to try something dangerous – I will attempt to speak for the pro-Obama community on DailyKos.
This is a message to the Clinton supporters. It includes some questions that I would like her campaign to answer. But first:
Why do we not support Senator Clinton for president?
I get asked this question often. The first part of the answer may surprise you:
Turnout of Dems vs GOP: Anyone have a spreadsheet or list of vote totals by state?
Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 04:17:30 PM PDT
I am seeking a excel-type data sheet of election results during the 2008 primary. Does anyone know where I could find a one-page list of candidates by state and their totals?
It's 2008 - We HAVE to have a woman on the ticket
Wed Jan 02, 2008 at 07:44:11 PM PDT
It's 2008, people.
The US needs to make a Bob-Beamon-esque leap to the 20th Century. While several countries have chosen females to be part of their executive branch, including Chile, England, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, New Zealand, Finland, Philippines, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe...
Coulter as Ann-dy Kaufman?
Sat Apr 07, 2007 at 11:49:26 AM PDT
Do you ever get the feeling that "Ann Coulter" is some sort of Kaufmanesque character that has been deviously formulated to extract wealth from the Helms-est of conservatives, all the while making them look to be the biggest fools this side of the Americans who thought Rap music was a fad, destined to die by 1986?
Seriously, I hope the 21st Century Tony Clifton stays relevant - sure, she is magnanimously offensive, boorish and loose with her facts - all extremely accurate exaggerations (?) of the modern establishment Republican. But in what ways does she actually assist their cause at winning elections and influencing Americans views on public policy?
Speaker Pelosi's district - the most diverse ever for a Speaker
Mon Jan 29, 2007 at 01:31:18 PM PDT
Much has been made of Nancy Pelosi becoming the first female Speaker of the House. During the House of Representatives campaign of 2006, one of the Republican tactics was to convince their electorate that a vote for a Democratic candidate was a vote for a Speaker Pelosi, and her "San Francisco values". Rather than focus on her agenda and her voting record, they attacked the people in her district. These campaign commercials and glossy pieces of (non-recyclable, non-union-made) direct mail based their arguments upon myths - that San Francisco is some uber-rich slice of un-American elitism. What has not been said: This is the first district to elect a Speaker in American history that did not have a white electoral majority.
FL- Legislature - Dem switches parties to GOP
Tue Nov 21, 2006 at 09:18:40 AM PDT
Will Kendrick of the Florida panhandle has switched parties from Democrat to Republican. The state capital newspaper (The Tallahassee Democrat) reports:

CT - Sen - Gov. Rell will appoint a Republican!
Thu Nov 02, 2006 at 08:53:55 AM PDT
Tell all the people in CT, especially the Democrats -
If Webb, Brown, McCaskill, Tester, Casey and Whitehouse win (which is highly probable), but so does Lieberman, we STILL might not get the majority.
Imagine all that hard work, all those donations, thrown out of the window by Joementum.
There's motherfuckin' snakes on our motherfuckin' republic!!

I was reading the diary about the California governor race. I witnessed a multitude of complaints regarding Phil Angelides' candidacy. While we at DailyKos are smart enough to see past the respective PR campaigns that are trying to sell these candidates like they were brands of margarine, there appeared to be a great deal of pessimism that most California voters would not be able to do so.
"Dems oppose minimum wage increase" - How can we get media to tell the TRUTH?
Thu Aug 03, 2006 at 09:10:35 PM PDT
According to the latest news, the Bait-'n'Switch Bill, aka the minimum wage "increase" did not reach the 60 votes needed to pass.
In the CNN article explaining the vote, not ONCE did the author mention the REAL reason why many Senators opposed the bill.
When will elected Democrats remember who put them in office?
Mon Feb 27, 2006 at 04:39:26 PM PDT
Polls show Bush, Republicans at new low.
Voters display lack of confidence in Bush, War on Terror
Vice President displays similar responsibility with weapons as he does with our foreign policy.
The headlines point to a deluge of bad news for the Administration. The past 9 months have been nothing short of a spectacular failure for the President and his managing of the country, the illegal war, and a natural disaster.
Minneapolis-St Paul Voter Guide from League of Independent Voters

Today we vote in the Twin Cities. (Cam Gordon in Ward 2!)
Here's a list of endorsed candidates from the League of Independent Voters in MN:
DailyKos ripped by DLC, defended by Intelligence Squad
Tue Aug 16, 2005 at 09:03:59 PM PDT
the DLC's publication "Blueprint" had some unkind words aimed at our community, which furthermore explains why the DLC should stand for Doting-on Limbaugh Council. The DLC seeks a Neville Chamberlain-ing of the party ("surrender to the Republicans on everything") where big lazy corporate a-holes get more power, and working people get even less.
But then, they decided to attack us - The Kos community.
Well, the right-wing bastids in the DLC didn't realize that they do not represent the heart of the party. Repsected blogger Intelligence Squad, a Black man who will not let the Compromise Wing of the party silence his important words on Florida, the Supreme Court, and the Iraq Debacle, has responses to the DLC talking points:

What are the Best Political Podcasts?
Sun Jul 24, 2005 at 10:25:31 PM PDT
I am about to embark on a long damn trip in a few days, and I would love to add some political learnin' to my mp3 player. I figure some funny, knowledgeable talk would be a great way to keep my assengers form tiring of my onslaught of The Hold Steady, Art Brut, Sons and Daughters, McLusky and (fill in name of obnoxious but loveable indie rock band here).
I know less about podcasts than Norm Coleman knows about integrity, so I'll need some info from all y'all out there.
Tim "Bruce Bowen" Roemer and Ben "Wallace" Nelson
Wed Jun 08, 2005 at 10:33:13 PM PDT
Before Dennis Miller went crazy...
he once asked if Dick Lugar was the man's real name. "I don't want to go off on a rant here, but baby, what were his other possibilities - Shlong Uzi? Cock Beretta? Rod Smithandwesson? That's like Pavarotti wind-surfing while reading Sylvia Plath in a Mott Street opium den while bar-hopping with Ted Kennedy, ott-cha-cha..."
"The Luge" talks a good moderate game, but as several comments have indicated, Coke W. Bush, Dwayne "Dwyane" Andreas, and Enron Skilling all know that Prick Winchester's votes on the Senate Floor are more of a guarantee than a Reggie Miller free-throw. And that's the bottom line.
Well....
Classic Jon Stewart - his stand-up comedy routine about Beer vs. Condoms
Thu Apr 21, 2005 at 01:37:48 PM PDT
All of the damn fools who oppose access to birth control must be politically destroyed. These are the real straw men. This is a wedge issue in which we can really make the Repubs our beeyotch.
Time to paraphrase a classic Jon Stewart stand-up routine:
