Lets support our nominee, this country needs changing after 8 disastrous years of the Bush my way or the highway administration.
America cant afford John McCain to finish George Bushs 3rd term, we deserve better, the world deserves better. You have seen first hand how a prosperous country, once the symbol of peace and prosperity to the world can be turned into a war mongering cesspool when the wrong leaders are the ones making the most important decisions of War vs Peace, Justice vs Injustice, Equality vs Inequality.
So Its been a long race, lots of hurt feelings on both sides, and like in any family some bitterness and resentment is always around for a while, but usually things come around and the past is the past.
Certainly to many people what happened on Tuesday, and surprisingly to some of Hillarys must staunch supporters, was seen as a missed opportunity to start uniting and healing the party and basically give the nominee, in this case Barack Obama, the best possible political footing to start kicking some republican arse, which is what we all ultimately want.
Lets put things in perspective here, Libby was basically caught in a lie thus the perjury conviction but in a way he was not the leaker, the leaker was George W. Bush, the ones that manipulated the leak were Dick Cheney and Karl Rove and the one that was sent to do the dirty work was Scooter Libby, now you see the picture.
Really, its that the best they can come up with? I mean I am not a media consultant but trying to distance yourself in a childish fashion is hardly a good idea, so the WH is basically confirming what Scott is saying just by their behavior, they are like the russian KGB, if you say something about them that they dont like they will impugn your reasons for saying what you are saying and try to assassinate your character (in the case of the russians they will also whack you).
makes a very strong case that it is when he says the war in Iraq was not necessary.
I wonder how the parents of thousands of dead and maimed soldiers must feel now knowing for sure that the person responsible, George W. Bush, the commander in chief misled the whole country into war in a vain and needless attempt to spread democracy around the middle east, effectively using the WMD argument as a "smoke screen" to insert fear in the american peoples hearts and minds and achieve the neocons ultimate nirvana, a war of choice that never ends.
Members of the Kennedy family are incensed over Hillary Rodham Clinton's invoking the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy to explain why she's staying in the race - and they think it could be the death knell of an increasingly desperate and sloppy campaign.
"That comment may be the last nail in her campaign's coffin," a Kennedy relative told The Post. "How can Hillary even use the experience argument when she repeatedly pushes the wrong buttons in her comments?"
An insider added, "I think people really felt that a line was crossed and that her campaign - and even her legitimacy as a politician - ended today."
Well, well, well it seems there is a god after all (I am Catholic btw) but now that John McCain is getting exactly what he deserves for being an opportunistic and pandering person he finds himself having to explain his association to, ehem, a pastor.
Now let me explain my rationale. John McBush "the maverick" is basically on the record "agreeing with the Bush Administrations handling of Foreign Policy", you cannot underestimate the effect this will have this November.
It means George McBush has basically single handedly written off diplomacy, talking not only to leaders "we like" but those "we dont like" (where diplomatic skills are really put to the test, hint hint).
Granted this happened a long time ago In September of 2000, when Liebermann played the role of a democrat as Al Gores VP.
And you would think the GOP would have "vetted" the guy that is always running around with their partys savior John McCain. Well it looks like Liebermann has a lot of explaining to do, was he wrong to say that he would be willing to personally meet with Minister Farrakhan? oh and here are some juicy quotes below.
By Mimi Hall, USA TODAY WASHINGTON — Nobel Peace Prize winner and international symbol of freedom Nelson Mandela is flagged on U.S. terrorist watch lists and needs special permission to visit the USA. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice calls the situation "embarrassing," and some members of Congress vow to fix it.
The requirement applies to former South African leader Mandela and other members of South Africa's governing African National Congress (ANC), the once-banned anti-Apartheid organization. In the 1970s and '80s, the ANC was officially designated a terrorist group by the country's ruling white minority. Other countries, including the United States, followed suit.
Why wont Hillary fully and inequivocably apologize, a la John Edwards, for her disastrous vote for the war in Iraq? Isn't part of that commander in chief test she keeps referring to being able to admit when you make mistakes and correct course? Is she running for a third Bush term? Her behavior seems to indicate just that.
This is as silly as a diary as you'll ever see but it does have a point to it. First of all I am not selling the damn things, I have better things to do. But republicans are. And you want to know why? well let me tell you.
No I'm not a democratic party leader, nor I'm I special in any way, I can't snap my fingers and wish this long drawn out process over (although after yesterday I wish I could) what I am is a loyal democrat, yes I do support Barack Obama but I was a loyal democrat before him, before, Kerry, Gore, Clinton... you get the point.
The sad excercise in "Journalism" we saw yesterday on ABC was no accident, this is why nominations are to be decided quickly, the issues are no longer "sensational" enough and the mainstream news media tends to try to find ways of making it "more interesting" by asking questions based on ratings and not on what is in the interest of the American people.
This is the exchange Hillary Clinton had with Tim Russert during the Nevada Democratic debate on her bankruptcy bill vote:
RUSSERT: Senator Clinton, you voted for the same 2001 bankruptcy bill that Senator Edwards just said he was wrong about. After you did that, the Consumer Federation of America said that your reversal on that bill, voting for it, was the death knell for the opponents of the bill. Do you regret that vote?
CLINTON: Sure I do, but it never became law, as you know. It got tied up. It was a bill that had some things I agreed with and other things I didn’t agree with, and I was happy that it never became law.
Later Obama Countered
In Reno on Friday, Barack Obama ridiculed an answer Clinton gave during the Las Vegas debate about her support for a 2001 Senate bankruptcy bill that was backed by credit-card companies and strongly opposed by consumer groups. Clinton said she was glad the measure never became law. “Think about that,” Obama said. “She voted for it even though she hoped it wouldn’t pass.”
This diary is in response to the republican smear machine attacking Senator Barack Obama for calling out John McCain on his 100-10000 year tour de force in Iraq. Well if only it was something John McCain hadn't said... But wait he did and THERE IS VIDEO!
The republicans are mad that John McCain is being hit with "his own words" . He was the one who said it was fine with him if we stayed 100 years in Iraq, he has also said up to 10,000 years (not one day more mind you) is something Americans can live with.
Republicans must be doing their own focus groups and probably know this is GOING TO KILL THEM IN THE GENERAL and are trying to put the genie back in the bottle.
Well, sadly for them, the genie is out for good, there is video of what McCain has said. And to be FAIR AND BALANCED the only one they have to blame is John "I'd Love For Us To Stay Forever In Iraq" McCain.
A lot of people would say its crazy, a war hero fails the Commander In Chief test?
Yes, just because you serve your country honorably it doesnt mean you are fit to lead it, if that was the case we would not have democratic elections every 4 years, the military would be ruling this country and someone like Petraeus, would be answering questions about the foreign policy of this country. But wait, that is exactly what is happening, he is answering questions his boss George W Bush should be answering, and defending a failed policy he did not create.
Dont get me started on Bush...
Anyways not to get side tracked, I will now tell you why John McCain is ALSO not fit to lead this country.
The Clinton hypocrisy is being revealed piece by piece and this will only grow, there is a lot that is still not known but from what its known its looking really bad for the Clintons.
The following video is from Dan Abrahams Show Verdict and as you will see the news on their recently released tax returns couldn't be worst for the Clintons:
Now that that is out of the way I will leave you with a video that explains the real meat behind this tax returns, once again David Shuster exposes all that is there and what there is still yet to be found. Mathews makes a brilliant observation in that Hillary Clinton and her campaign just provided a summary of the Clintons 07 taxes. This is the interesting part since most of the people who wanted to curry favor with the Clintons would have contributed in that year.
Where Are The 2007 Taxes Details?
What Are The Clintons Still Hiding?
Also, Bill Clinton has been making money hands over fists with "Just Words" $51,000,000 people now thats the kind of Solutions For America the Clintons are fighting for.
