Contact Congress to support Udall-Webb
Thu Oct 25, 2007 at 10:22:21 AM PDT
Mark Udall and Jim Webb have introduced legislation to force the President to do what the Constitution says he must do: obtain congressional approval before going to war.
Contact your congressional and senate representative and ask them to co-sponsor this vital piece of legislation. God will condemn us all if we don't! I asked him and that's what he told me.
Hey, Asshat, the Germans Were Pretty Good at Keeping Records
Tue Sep 25, 2007 at 06:16:02 AM PDT
Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to the US yesterday and was an OVERWHELMING success in making a total and complete ass out of himself. Two things. First, the Germans are nothing if not excellent record keepers, so it's very, very probable that if you think they didn't record the amount of Jews named "Jack" they killed accurately then you're one "Jack" off. Second, if there are no gays in Iran, or at any rate no gays you haven't rounded up, the quite frankly IRAN SUCKS. I'm not gay; No one in my family is gay; but you know what? I LIKE HAVING GAY PEOPLE AROUND. So if your country doesn't gay people then it sucks.
Tancredo's Niece Arrested Near Glenwood Last Week
Fri Sep 14, 2007 at 05:26:36 AM PDT
This is too good. A woman claiming to be the niece of Colorado Congressman and Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo was arrested last week in New Castle, Colorado.
New Castle Police arrested Crystal Ann Tancredo, 26, outside the Burning Mountain Bowl shortly before midnight Sept. 4. She was booked into the Garfield County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault on a peace officer, ethnic intimidation, resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Tancredo posted a $7,000 bond shortly after the arrest, according to the Garfield County Combined Courts office.
Colorado Election Preview 2008

Six years ago, Colorado seemed a reliably Republican state. Today, it's led by a popular Democratic Governor, a Democratic House and Senate and polls show that Democratic presidential hopefuls are within striking distance. Giuliani holds a six point lead over Clinton and only one point over Obama. Romney trails both, Clinton by six and Obama by an astounding 13%! I don't know who the favorite is for Democratic nominee. Probably Clinton? Edwards is the favorite of the squareheads over at Square State. The race for Republican nominee is likewise up in the air, probably being led by Guilliani. El Tom Tancredo has my vote, if he makes it here, I register as a Republican to vote for the biggest idiot in the primary. My gut tells me that Giuliani has a big advantage among those who think that Saddam Hussein attacked us on 9/11. It will be tough to keep that lead once the campaign starts.

Acquitted!
Mon May 28, 2007 at 03:39:08 PM PDT
The woman who sent a dog turd to America's Worst Congressional Representative (c), Marilyn Musgrave, was acquitted yesterday of depositing a noxious substance with the intention of interfering with the use and enjoyment of a building.
It seems that poop is protected speech in Colorado. At least, it is with respect to Marilyn Musgrave.

Pass Two Bills
Wed May 02, 2007 at 12:38:39 PM PDT
OK, I have a serious brain disease so maybe this is totally insane but why can't the Democratic Congress pass two bills on Iraq funding. One has all the funding for the troops with the Murtha requirements and no "strings" attached. That is, no deadlines.
The other has the funding for "rebuilding" Iraq and all the stuff Bush really wants like funding for Halliburton and Blackwater. This has deadlines, benchmarks, inspections, conditions and anything else we want to load on it.
Now, I suppose he can veto either of these bills, but it takes a lot more 'splainin' to the American people because it's so simple that a guy that has dementia can not only understand it, but can come up with it. Why won't this work?

Killing Puppies for Fun and Profit
Thu Feb 15, 2007 at 10:23:04 AM PDT
Literally.
The greyhound racing industry kills on average, about 7,500 puppies before they even get in their first race. That's more than Dick Cheney on a bad weekend! The cruelty hardly stops there. From birth to vivisection, life for racing dogs is harsh.
This industry serves only to perpetuate the government programs that support it. Each year, it generates fewer and fewer spectators, less and less revenue and more and more dead dogs.
Lots of you know I like to post a cute, "gratuitous greyhound" picture every day in the cheers and jeers. Well, the pictures after the fold are hardly cute and hardly gratuitous. I want to let you know what's going on out there and how you can help--no matter what state you are in.

Florida Legislator Shows Reason for Contesting Every Race
Wed Nov 01, 2006 at 05:36:08 AM PDT
Florida State Representative Ralph Arza, of course a Republican, is in hot water for
leaving a racially-charged phone message on a colleague's system.
Arza has admitted leaving the message on the voice mail of Republican Rep. Gus Barreiro earlier this month but said he was drunk and felt "deeply ashamed."
Barreiro had earlier filed a complaint alleging that Arza used a racial epithet when referring to Miami-Dade County school superintendent Rudy Crew, who is black; an allegation Arza denies. Arza used the same epithet in his phone message to Barreiro, who is Hispanic.
Rules committee chairman Dudley Goodlette, who is conducting the House investigation, wrote in a report Monday that he has not decided whether to recommend expulsion and that he wishes Arza would act first.

Who Gets Thrown Under the Bus?
Sun Oct 08, 2006 at 02:02:38 PM PDT
If Democrats win back the House or the Senate in November, there will be some baggage we don't need. Some policies traditionally espoused by Democrats that we just can't afford any more.
So, assuming we win, who do we throw under the bus to maintain a majority (and expand it and have a decent shot at the White House) in 2008. And, most importantly, how does it help us win in 2006?
Here's who I'm throwing under the bus:
Hopes and Reservations for this November from Colorado

Squarestate dot net--if you haven't been there, and you are from one of the square states, come on out.
Out here in Colorado, I must confess that I am more hopeful about November's elections than I have been in many years. There are a few reasons to be hopeful--people are finally seeing the light about Bush, Republican'ts can't seem to get anything right, Democrats are organized with a fifty state strategy and are more energetic than at any time since 1992.
