I was sent this video today by a friend of mine. I had seen it before, and remember having been moved by it, but he never had. He said he saw it today on Youtube while he was just surfing, and it really struck him. Here's the video, which I'm sure a ton of you have already seen, but I just wanted to post it again.
I was thinking of the different ways Obama could change the momentum, change the storyline. We obviously have the 50 delegate rumor out there, but last night's losses may have pushed that back. So what can Obama do to get some of the mojo back.
In light of Hillary's comments about a joint ticket, I was thinking whether or not Obama should pick a VP now. It would certainly be unexpected, but it could have some interesting dynamics. I'll do some pro/cons after the break, and leave it up to you folks to talk about it.
I realize this may not be the most original of diary topics. There is one of these types of diaries on the right side of the page right now. But I think its important to get across on these boards why this isn't just whining and moaning, and why it's a very real problem.
On a board like Daily Kos, we take for granted that the people here are Democrats, loyal to the party and its ideas. We assume that since Obama and Hillary share most of their policies, and they would likely try to achieve the same things in office, that people who are really pissed at Hillary are only being petulant, or are just being emotional, and won't be so stupid as to vote for a Republican in November. I think this is based on a very serious misinterpretation of the voter pool, one of which is skewed by the demographics of this site.
Everyone who saw the "Yes We Can" video made by Will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas was rightfully impressed by it. Great production, great message, great music. A very inspiring piece.
Well, here is a new video put out about Hillary. This doesn't seem to have been made by the campaign, but neither was the Yes We Can video, so take a look at the comparison
