So, it's finally over... But now that the general election begins - and below, I have an idea for an Obama VP choice: Why not a woman with military and/or foreign policy experience (if there are any out there who are Democrats and who are willing to be VP)?
Short diary, apologies...
So...was browsing through msnbc.com today - and guess what I found? An article on McSame titled "McCain more conservative than his record."
I thought, "Oh, look - a nice, soft commentary piece by Olbermann or something."
But to my surprise, it wasn't - it was actually a decently critical piece from the Associated Press!
Someone alert Rachel Maddow! We might finally be breaking through!
This will be a short diary, but hopefully worth it.
This was my dad's idea, so first I wanna say thanks to him for patiently sitting through my frustrated ranting in our conversation last night. Thanks, Dad!
Anyways, after I finished rambling away, Dad calmly gave his idea on how Al Gore could quickly stop the Hillary-Obama snitchfest with just a sentence...
In 1968, there was a divided Democratic convention. In 1972, there was a divided Democratic National Convention. In 1980, there was a divided Democratic National Convention. Democrats lost the election in all those years.
As far as I can tell, neither Barack Obama nor Hillary Clinton gets themselves the required number of pledged delegates in the primary contest now to lock up the nomination as a certainty before the convention. They need two thousand twenty five. I don’t think either gets there before Denver. So they could fight it all the way to Denver. And if they spend that time giving John McCain a freaking pass and letting the media keep wetting themselves in delight every time Senator bomb-bomb says "My friends." If they spend the months between now and Denver destroying each other and ignoring McCain, then you can kiss the White House goodbye for the Democrats for sure.

After calming down significantly from my last diary and reading mcjoan's post, I've decided to take a fly at proposing my own election system reform. It's a bit lengthy, and not completely detailed, but just bear with me...
UPDATE: I will not change what I originally wrote in this diary. I still feel the way I do about this, but I've also calmed down from this morning, and realized I missed a few things. You will find the new additions to this diary after the original text.
So, while waiting for class to start, I saw this.
And my ire was set off...

Anyway, I started to respond to the comments for my previous diary entry in a comment of my own, but felt the comment would be far too big - so I'm going to respond in this new diary entry instead.
After seeing the results of Super Tuesday, I am more convinced than ever that Obama and Clinton should just join forces - and should do it now, instead of later (if they do eventually team up). I don't care if it's Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton, I just believe that them teaming up would be the best thing for the Democrats.
