MSM Masturbation, Double Standard, and Looking Ahead

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 10:19:28 PM PDT

Let's face it, the MSM is in the business of making themselves feel good.  Chris Mathews bluntly stated.. Another victory for cable television tonight.
Yep, it was a mass media circle jerk.
Ahh, she's only ahead by 6 points, it could be over for Hillary.
Oooh, it's 8 points, is that enough to force her out?
Oh my God, it's 10 points, Clinton is definitely in it til the end.
The talking heads are in love with themselves.

On the subject of Hillary.  Can you imagine the demands that would be flowing from the Clinton campaign if she were leading by over 150 delegates and 500,000 votes and her opponent refused to drop out?  Preposterous. Unthinkable.  They would never allow it in their Democratic Party.

Enough of the weird/bad stuff.  Better news below the fold ...

Why the Wright story will die down

Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 07:05:56 PM PDT

Barack Obama is going to be the Democratic nominee for president.  Democrats who haven't accepted this fact soon will.

When it sinks in with all Democrats that Obama IS the nominee, the focus will shift like a laser beam to ridding our country of all vestiges of the Bush administration.

Do most women believe Obama is lucky to be black?

Tue Mar 11, 2008 at 05:40:17 PM PDT

When I first read the comments below from Geraldine Ferraro, I found myself wondering if she really thought her statement was helpful to Hillary.

If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.

Time for Kennedy, Jackson, Daschle to respond in kind...

Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 08:20:07 PM PDT

Barack Obama must stay above the fray but he cannot simply allow Hillary and her attack machine to punch him without a response.

Enough with the tit for tat stuff from Obama campaign workers.  It is time for the high profile Obama supporters to step up the counter attacks on Hillary (at least until she stops her attacks on him).

A Big Blue Texas would look great for Obama

Tue Mar 04, 2008 at 04:27:02 PM PDT

Watching MSNBC and every once in a while they show the map of the United States with the states won by Obama in bright blue and the states won by Clinton in dark blue.

Delegates, not Media are awarding election to Obama

Mon Mar 03, 2008 at 06:16:04 AM PDT

The latest talking point from Hillaryland is that the media have prematurely awarded the race to Obama.  Oh really?

As has been discussed thousands of times... Hillary Clinton needs approximately 65% of the  vote (delegates) in Ohio and Texas just to pull even with Obama.

SNL on Never Watch Again list

Sat Mar 01, 2008 at 09:42:51 PM PDT

That's it.  The first time might have been for laughs, which is what this show used to be about. But using SNL as a free national mouthpiece for the Clinton campaign is shameless.

McCain Tryst to be Dem Debate Topic?

Thu Feb 21, 2008 at 08:28:23 AM PDT

I've been trying to figure out why the NY Times would have been holding the John McCain story until last night/today.  Then the thought came to me.  Could it be a setup for tonight's Democratic debate?

Definition of Plagiarism

pla·gia·rism
The unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work.

In the case at hand, the use of the language used was AUTHORIZED by the originator.  Hell, it was encouraged !!

She's going to destroy the party

Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 05:06:49 PM PDT

I guess we all have to resign ourselves to this.  The Hillary campaign has now decided to take the fight all the way to the convention no matter how far behind she is on pledged delegates.

She has said it, this is the great cause of her life.  If she has to trash, burn, and personally destroy everyone in her path to win, that is exactly what she will do.

Will superdelegates press the nuke button?

Sun Feb 17, 2008 at 10:23:13 AM PDT

If, as now seems likely, Barack Obama maintains his lead in popular vote, states won, and pledged delegates, the only choice that keeps the party in tact is to nominate Obama.  If the superdelegates select Hillary Clinton over Obama in spite of these numbers, they will effectively destroy their party in one disastrous blow.

I'd love to hear opinions (with rationale) to the contrary.

Below the fold are the reasons why I believe the majority of superdelegates must support Obama...

Is it okay to "reach out" ?

Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 08:40:58 AM PDT

In endorsing Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton, the Houston Chronicle put it this way ...

However, there is a decisive difference. Obama vows to reach out to independents and Republicans with a message of inclusion and cooperation. He offers a historic opportunity to elevate national political dialogue to a higher ground. Those who insist on vitriol and obstructionism would be marginalized.

It's time to put an end to this ...

Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 04:39:00 PM PDT

Barack Obama is being vilified for inspiring people through his amazing oratorical skills by someone who has very limited oratorical skills.

Barack Obama supporters are being vilified as "cult like" because they show exuberance and enthusiasm for the candidate they support.

What's happening here?  Are we living in a bizzaro world?
