In an open thread earlier tonight, this comment by edfox had me chuckling. The money quote is from this article
In what may be the perfect metaphor for her campaign, though, her departure time for a campaign stop Friday in Puerto Rico was temporarily in doubt.
A sinkhole had opened in the runway.
May be the perfect metaphor?

What the hell are you doing up? Shouldn't you be in bed? I'm stuck at work, what's your excuse?
A couple of weeks ago, gracchus posted a diary similar to this, asking kossacks why they were haunting the net at this particular hour. Turned into a pleasant open thread and a bit of a mojo fest.
As for me, I took a second job about a year ago as a night auditor at a Days Inn. So I'm here 7-8 hours a night, 5 nights a week - alone with the internet, interrupted by an occasional 5 minutes of customer service. It's a pretty good gig for a political junkie - and it would be really good if it wasn't my second job. As it stands, I'm pretty much a zombie. I get a couple of 3 hour naps each day, and crash and burn on the weekends.

Clinton had a surprisingly good Tuesday. We probably all felt the slowing, the little dip, in Obama's momentum. Will there be a surge in support for Clinton? Probably not. For the most part her supporters are already in place, and most others are either anti-Clinton or ambivalent. A drop in Obama's support? Probably not. Most of his supporters are adamant.
The next week or so seems to be shaping up to be a critical crossroad in this marathon primary season. How should Senator Obama respond to this recent adversity? Like a President.
