Days after whoring out his daughters in an Access Hollywood (!) puff piece that backfired by creating more horror than cooing in the American public, Barack Obama is backpeddling like crazy from this public relations disaster.

Ah... pardon me, but what the fuck is going on in this country lately?  Since when did all this God-talk and church stuff in our politics and politicians become ok?  When the Republicans and their loony evangelicals started with this crap about eight or ten years ago, I figured it was just those far right-wing wackos.  Since when has mainstream discourse in this country moved squarely into far right-wing evangelical wacko territory?

Obama is going all the way.  This man will be our next President.  If there’s anything we’ve learned over the past few weeks, since Obama gained the nomination, it’s that Barack Obama is a politician’s politician.  Hillary was no match.  The vaunted Bill was no match.  McCain is no match.

Noam Chomsky on this sham we call a presidential election.  Powerful special interests and corporations trump the will of the American people.  The public is irrelevant.

Please tell me the person who thought this was a good idea has been fired.  And PLEASE don’t tell me Obama signed off on it.

Today, in a stunning reversal, Barack Obama announced he will become the first American presidential candidate since Nixon to solely rely on private money for his White House bid.

Barack Obama is losing credibility as the change candidate almost daily.  In an interview with Fortune magazine, the candidate who railed against NAFTA as "devestating" and a "big mistake" now says it was just "overheated" campaign retoric.  Guess that's what "Fired Up!" really means.

Maybe Rev Jeremiah Wright was right about Obama after all:  just another politician saying what he has to say.

Yeah, it’s tragic that Russert died, and my prayers go out to Tim and his family, but if Tim Russert is the pillar of journalism that he’s being hailed as in all these gushing reports, then journalism is in even worse shape than we thought.

Well, now Jim Johnson has resigned from leading the Obama VP selection team because of the sweet deal he received from Countrywide on a mortgage.  Yeah, THAT Countrywide – the Angelo Mozilo Countrywide that Obama called out by name as responsible for the mortgage meltdown mess.
