The Pledged Delegates Pledge

As I watch this election season unfold, I am increasingly discouraged by the Clinton campaign’s effort to switch the debate to focus on super delegates. We have all seen Senator Clinton indicate recently that she feels the role of the super delegates is to vote at the convention to modify the votes of voters based on "new information". Without ever actually saying what the new information is that would have changed voters’ votes in the first place. The obvious reality is that whoever ends up with more pledged delegates should be the nominee. If the super delegates take the nomination away from the candidate with the most pledged delegates, the resulting splintering would cause the party to lose in the Presidential election in November and suffer many down ticket defeats as a result. While this is obvious, I think it needs to be proven.
