Paying off Hillary's Debt: Facts not Handwringing

Thu May 08, 2008 at 09:23:56 PM PDT

First of all, we all need to chill out.

There have been many diaries and comments today about this subject.

People have been freaking out because they think their small donations would be used to help retire her debt.

That's not going to happen, and I'll tell you why.

If there was any doubt....it is over

Wed May 07, 2008 at 09:08:38 PM PDT

Bob Schieffer..."This race is over."

Tim Russert..."We now know who the democratic nominee is going to be."

George Stephanopolus..."This nomination fight is now over.

If there was any doubt, this exchange on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric gives a clear indication that this fight is over

video below the fold.

Now this is scary...

I think it is time for all democrats to ask themselves, what we really want for the future of this country.  I know that alot of us here are Obama supporters, but some of us would reluctantly support Sen. Clinton if she were to claim the nomination.  But we need to ask ourselves if this is what we want, there is an article in the weekly standard that we as democrats should all take a look at:

the Hillary of May 2008 is radically different from the Hillary of two months ago, much less the one of last year, or of eight years back. And this one (at least till the nomination is settled) has some traits the right wing can love

Media Bias is running rampant at MSNBClinton

Thu May 01, 2008 at 05:54:36 PM PDT

Let me first start off by saying that I am pissed about the fact that I had to pay almost $75 for gas today.  Running through Hillary & McCentury's ridiculous gas tax-holiday plan in my head, I realized that I would save a total of $3 dollars/week, may $6, depends on how many times I fill up.  And for that, I would have to risk driving on fucked up roads, messing up my tires, or worried that bridges that I am driving on are about to collapse.  But when I got home and turned on MSNBC, I heard none of that, I just heard about Rev. Wright.

I saw the most amazing thing today.

Sun Apr 27, 2008 at 08:50:51 PM PDT

I have just had the most amazing Sunday.  I will admit that I was a little nervous about today because I am a HardCore Barack Obama supporter, and I knew that the media was waiting for this speech from Jeremiah Wright to see if he said anything crazy, but he didn't.  But that is not where my amazing Sunday began, it began on my way to church with my mother who is a former Hillary Clinton supporter.

Hill's $10 Million - 2 good 2 be True.

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 08:31:58 PM PDT

The Clinton campaign says it raised $2.5 million online last night in the three hours after the Pennsylvania primary was called, and 80% of that came from new donors.   Then, the campaign said it has experienced a crush of new contributions overnight that now totals more than $10 million. Terry McCauliffe said that they had 50,000 new donors and $10 million dollars, then he said they were on track to raise that amount.
I'm not buying it and neither should you.

Focusing My Nervous Energy on John McCentury

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 06:40:48 AM PDT

Ok.  Like most of you, I am sooo nervous about the Pennsylvania primary results.  I have all of this energy that I don't know what to do with.  I have my own thoughts of what is going to happen, it is not based on any scientific measurement, basically my just my gut instincts, but more on that later.  I am writing this diary to put some of my nervous energy to good use...going after John McCentury & the break-down of the straight-Talk Express.

Younger Than McCain

Fri Apr 18, 2008 at 09:20:51 PM PDT

Steve Rosenthal, a former political director at the AFL-CIO and executive director of America Coming Together has started a new website designed to draw attention to Sen. John McCain's age.

The current content amounts to a 90-second video listing the things younger than McCain -- a list that includes the Golden Gate Bridge, plutonium, Coke in a can and Velcro among many, many other things.

The website is called youngerthanmccain.com

My Email to Donna Brazile

Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 07:28:57 AM PDT

I like to e-mail Donna Brazile on occasion to get her thoughts on things.  Also to vent my frustrations to a superdelegate.  I choose her, because I know she actually reads them and responds.  I emailed her last night and got a response, but I don't know what to make of it.  I just wanted everyone's opinions on if this is a good sign or if I am just reading too much into it.

New Michigan Poll - Obama up.

Fox 2 Detroit suggests Hillary Clinton has problems in Michigan

New EPIC-MRA poll done after Wright-Gate, and after Bosnia- Gate, but before Bitter-Gate suggests Obama is a better candidate for the state of Michigan.

HRC: Was She Speaking in Code?

Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 07:43:59 PM PDT

In the CNN Compassion Forum, Hillary Clinton was asked what her favorite bible story was...She said it was the story of Esther.  I believe she was speaking in code.  In order to understand, you need to understand the story of Esther, and why it is important in this election.

Brown Skin: My Contribution to the Conversation We All Need to Have.

Sat Apr 12, 2008 at 05:08:24 PM PDT

I watched the show Meeting David Wilson on MSNBC last night.  I have realized that the conversation about race is one we as a county need to have.  I read a moving diary earlier today, it was called For A White Girl by RoCali.  I decided to contribute to the conversation about race in my own way.   My experiences are different, I think, from most people, so I decided to share them.
I am a 30 Year old African-American female.  I grew up in an upper-middle class  neighborhood about a half-hour outside of Detroit MI.  When I first started school, I attended a mixed race private school.  I, of course, knew that I was Black and the other kids were whatever race they were but it never bothered me.  I was friends with every one and I never thought people were any different because of their race.  Until I was 9 years old.

Stop It With This Electoral Vote Nonsense....We Use Delegates to Choose a Nominee!

Thu Apr 10, 2008 at 06:45:10 PM PDT

Bill Clinton is at it again...He is in Indiana saying...

She will go to the convention with the best claim having won the largest number of electoral votes, having won an enormous percentage – two-thirds at least -- of the electoral votes that I was able to get in 1996. She will have the best claim to be the nominee of the party for president.

He is desperately trying to give his wife a legitimate reason to keep going in this election.  So, I am going to say this very slowly, hopefully he reads this and gets it.  We do not pick presidential nominees by ELECTORAL VOTES - We choose them by delegates. This is my way of saying that the Clinton's electoral vote argument is a bunch of B.S.  Follow me as I debunk this pathetic claim.

Debunking Hillary's Primary Vote vs. General Election Vote Theory

Mon Apr 07, 2008 at 06:04:33 AM PDT

Since Senator Obama is ahead of Senator Clinton, in most other leading indicators: popular vote by 700,000 votes out of 26 million cast, a difference of about 3 percent; delegates 1640-1507 (per msnbc); and number of contest won, 30 compared with 14.  Senator Clinton has decided to come up with a disingenuous method of winning.  She decided to use the electoral method.  Her top PA surrogate, Ed Rendell is going around telling every one that will listen that:

Hillary Clinton has won states with about 260 electoral votes. Barack Obama has won states with about 190. And we decide the presidency not by a popular vote, we decide it by the electoral vote.

Yeah, well that is nice, but we decide presidential nominations by delegates and not by electors.

But given the fact that this is Hillary's new Metric, I decided to explore the theory that the winner of an intra-party primary automatically has a better chance of winning a state in a general election.  Check it out......

Lest We Forget - April 4, 1968...

Thu Apr 03, 2008 at 06:31:52 PM PDT

April 3rd, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee, Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered some really prophetic words.  He said...

"Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop.
And I don't mind.
Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!"

The next day, Martin Luther King Jr. Was assassinated

Hillary superdelgate says, "Barack Obama is going to be the next President

Tue Apr 01, 2008 at 09:48:43 AM PDT

"If I had to make a prediction right now, I'd say Barack Obama is going to be the next president," he said just after 18:00. "I will be stunned if he's not the next president of the United States."

{Call to Action} - Get The True Rev. Wright Story Out Before Pennsylvania Primary

Fri Mar 28, 2008 at 06:50:14 PM PDT

I have been giving alot of thought to what I could do to help Barack Obama.  I have donated money when I could, even though I live in Michigan, I went to Ohio to volunteer, and I have called MSNBC and emailed them relentlessly to ask them to be fair about their coverage of Rev. Jeremiah Wright.  The other day when Andrea Mitchell was reporting about the latest things that she saw in Jeremiah Wright's church bulletins, I got really angry.  If you will follow me below the fold, I will tell you my idea.

The Truth About Barack Obama's Church

Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 06:22:21 PM PDT

I felt it was important to post information about TRINITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST.  There are many misconceptions out there.  People seem to think that 30 second soundbites reflect the whole church.  I hope this clears it up.
