Obama Not Constitutionally Eligible to Be President

Mon Jun 16, 2008 at 04:59:01 PM PDT

First of all, I have to admit, after Barack Obama released his birth certificates (a clever forgery that will be revealed in due time I might add), I thought the issue of Obama's Constitutional eligibility to be President was settled.

That was until today, when one of my super secret right-wing friends told me about some paperwork he saw that Karl Rove is preparing to release via his new 527 group.  Since my conservative friends have never led me astray in the past, I have no reason to believe that this isn't true.

Help Hold Me Accountable...

Sat Jun 14, 2008 at 08:37:12 AM PDT

On Thursday, I learned that a co-worker of mine died in a car accident, after appearing to have a heart attack, running off the road, and hitting a tree.  He was only 59 years old, a little over twice my age, but he was a vibrant and caring man.  My fondest memory of Jack was him helping me change a flat tire on my car in the parking lot after work one day.  As a young man living a long way from his dad, I guess he saw the need and offered his help.  God bless him.

Yesterday, while I was getting ready to leave work, I checked the news and saw that Tim Russert had passed away as well, a great man taken from us.

Hope is a Game of Cricket

Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 07:10:42 PM PDT

I'm going to be brief.  It's been a few days since I've written anything substantive that wasn't a shameless attempt to worm myself onto the rec list for the first time.

For those of you who've read my posts in the past, you probably know that I'm from North Carolina, living close to the center of the state.  For those of you who've been to my site, recognize the statue picture, and know a little about the Revolutionary War, you can probably guess the city I live in now.

But I wasn't born here.  No sir/ma'am.  I was born in another world.

Hamas Blasts Their Favorite Candidate

Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 04:03:19 PM PDT

Someone tell John McCain that his wet dream of framing Barack Obama as the candidate of Hamas is over.  As most of you remember, Senator McCain chastised Obama in April, after a top Hamas advisor said in a radio interview that he liked Barack Obama, and hoped that he would win the Presidential election.  The subsequent straw man that McCain tried to build on the subject caught fire and burned today. after Obama's speech before the AIPAC.

Mea Culpa:  Cheap Pops, The Vehicle of Divisiveness and My Pledge

Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 02:51:43 PM PDT

Sometimes, my significant other has a nasty habit.  She'll say something bad about someone she doesn't like, justifying it by saying "well it's true!".  I like to chastise her for this, as I'm a man with many flaws, living with a woman with few, so I'll take the opportunity to be self-righteous whenever I can.

But one of the negatives of being self-righteous is that you will inevitably become a hypocrite, and that's exactly what I've become.

A Story About Entitlement and Unity

Sun Jun 01, 2008 at 07:46:25 AM PDT

Cross-posted at WebPolitick

When I was in elementary school, every year each of the classes would have a geography bee, with the winners of each class going on to the larger school competition.  I was in the 4th grade the first year I was eligible to complete, and I won my class.  From the class I went on to the school, where I finished in 3rd place.  It was quite an achievement for me, considering that I was competing with kids in the 8th grade.

BREAKING!  Supplemental Obama Memo Regarding RBC Protest (UPDATED 2X)

Wed May 28, 2008 at 02:31:31 PM PDT

This memo was just issued by John Hill with the campaign via email:

Based on our response to David's email today, there appears to have been some confusion regarding what is and isn't acceptable regarding our supporters and the RBC meeting in Washington, DC this Saturday.  Their meeting process should be respected, as well as those attending in support of Senator Hillary Clinton

The Pissing Contest

Tue May 27, 2008 at 03:06:15 PM PDT

McCain no sooner started his speech again — announcing he would seek to reduce global nuclear stockpiles — when he was interrupted once more by anti-war protesters.

"What about Iraq? What about Iraq?" one shouted. Another unfurled a banner that said, "Iraq vets against the war."

When the larger crowd shouted down the protesters again, McCain quipped, "This may turn into a longer speech than you had anticipated."

"And by the way, I will never surrender in Iraq, my friends. I will never surrender in Iraq," he added emphatically to applause and laughter. "Our American troops will come home with victory and honor."

War is not a pissing contest.

Obama Supporters Too Numerous for FEC

Mon May 26, 2008 at 09:51:49 AM PDT

Not sure if anyone has reported on this topic this morning, so I thought I would take a stab at it.  It appears that the U. S. government is having a hard time keeping track of all us Obama supporters.

Two Charged With Sodomy In Raleigh

Sun May 25, 2008 at 08:01:02 AM PDT

Nchands appears to have diaried on this matter late last night, but it seems that it fell off of the diary pretty quickly, and I wanted to make sure this story received the attention it deserves.  The following diary is my post from BlueNC.com on the matter.  I wanted to keep the issue alive for now, as it is such an egregious affront to our Constitution.

There's a shocking story coming to us from the Raleigh News & Observer tonight regarding two men recently arrested for committing homosexual acts.

NY Daily News on HRC:  X-ray of a Dark Soul

Sat May 24, 2008 at 06:08:25 AM PDT

I've been reading some of the reactions in the news this morning, including those posted by fellow Kossacks, regarding Hillary Clinton's shameful use of the assasination of Bobby Kennedy as an excuse to further her inevitable plausible doomed pathetic candidacy.

I've seen many negative responses, but probably one of the most damning and most telling I see from the New York Daily News, coming from of one Senator Clinton's many home states.

Clinton Owes $61,000 to North Carolina Vendors

Fri May 23, 2008 at 05:42:49 PM PDT

Warning! I'm about to go on a short rant before getting to the good stuff.

My short-lived attempt to do my part in marginilizing Hillary Clinton ended today, when she used the assasination of Bobby Kennedy to somehow explain why she continues with her inevitable plausible doomed pathetic candidacy.  She's already compared the waning days of her campaign to the Civil Rights movement, why not use Bobby Kennedy's death as a reason to stay in the fight.  I mean, all she was doing way saying that anything could happen right?

To be honest with you, I don't know what the hell she was thinking.  She seems to have this nasty habit of trying to get away with these subtle attempts to damage the presumptive Democratic Nominee for President by trying some canned semi-plausible explanation after the damage has been done.

Jesse Helms, Charlie Black and North Carolina's Revenge in 2008

Mon May 19, 2008 at 10:23:51 AM PDT

First of all, I would like to thank fellow Kos member denegre for his most recent post, Trouble for McCain:  Jack Abramoff, Charlie Black & the 1980s....  His diary furthers our education of Mr. Black, whose affiliations with unsavory characters brings into question John McCain's judgment of character.

My significant other graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro this weekend.  I was very proud.  She was 17 when we started dating.  When she decided on a college, she decided that she needed to move away from the small town we had grown up in, to test herself in a far off place.

How Obama is Like FDR...or...Why Appalachia Should Give Obama Another Look

Tue May 13, 2008 at 04:28:34 PM PDT

My grandparents grew up in the shadows of the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains during the great depression.  The depression hit the country hard, and Western North Carolina was no different, leaving my grandparents to spend their childhood in a rural area void of modern technology like telephones, electricity and running water.

Extending the Olive Branch

Sat May 10, 2008 at 06:02:33 PM PDT

I'm not even sure where I'm going with this diary.  I'm just going to write, and hopefully my mind/soul will guide my fingers to strike the keys to express how I'm feeling.

We won.  After a year of campaigning, it appears that Barack Obama is on the precipice of history, and will be facing John McCain in the general election to determine who will be out 44th President of the United States.  I don't need to tell any of you how important this is, or how hard the work was for this.
