The Party’s Over

This column will serve as commentary on today’s events.

Our standing orders, as always: ORGANIZE.

In days to come we will announce organizational decisions (and infrastructure) being made, by groups such as Clinton Supporters Count Too. The fight for core Democratic principles continues even though The Party’s Over.

We will also continue our series discussing why Democrats should not vote for Obama - Voting For Barack Obama.

NOvember will come soon enough and we will vote for Hillary; No one else but Hillary. We will encourage others to do the same.

We won’t be alone in that decision- vote for Hillary - Not Big Media, Not Big Media Tool Obama. We will also NOT vote for any candidate who endorsed Obama over Hillary during the primary season. We will encourage as many Democrats as possible to follow our lead.

A Loaded Question: In Defense of the 2nd Amendment

Sun Apr 27, 2008 at 09:04:38 AM PDT

I once had the soul-shaking experience of having a gun pointed at my head.  Believe me, I understand that rhetoric is a lousy defense against automatic weapons and I know that it is very hard to be objective about the Second Amendment while dodging bullets.

In country where the night has been conceded to the vicious and the well armed, it is understandable that many citizens, legislators and judges have come to re-examine the meaning and utility of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I believe that gun control laws are necessary.  However, an objective examination of the Second Amendment will prove that it was intended as an individual right and it is therefore unconstitutional to place any limitation on a law-abiding citizen’s right to bear arms.

Updated Rant: Now Containing 1 Joke.

Politico tells us that 50 SDs are just looking for the right time to endorse Obama.  That's nice, but what the hell are the other several hundred waiting for?  Cabinet posts?  It is not HRC that is damaging the party; it is these hundreds of Democrats that are so afraid of being on the losing side that they will not commit to a nominee.  She has every right to fight until she can no longer stand.  Heck, I admire that.

The reason she fights on is that she knows the voters don't matter in a close primary.  The first three-thousand votes are thrown out in favor of the supposed wisdom of the last eight-hundred.

It is time for us to ask these Super Delegates why they are refusing to act for the good of the party.

GOP Advertising for Hillary in NC

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 01:02:54 AM PDT

Bedtime topic.  Sorry if it is a bit incoherent this late.

The NYT is reporting that the NC GOP is running an attack ad against Obama in order to help Hillary win the Democratic primary.

Still, sort of a dumb thing to say, Sen. Obama

I know I'm going to catch hell for this, but--Guys, he did say something sort of stupid.

It was an interesting, sociological point, but I wish he hadn't said it.  It was good starting contention for an fascinating argument and it would have been entirely appropriate in a polysci classroom, but it does sound like he's talking about guns and bibles voters as if their social values were a delusion brought on by hunger.
