Who's Running this Country

Thu Jul 24, 2008 at 05:07:31 AM PDT

A co-worker of mine, after reading several stories passed off as news on various sites on the internet, in a raised voice of exasperation said, "Man who's running this country."

I don't know which story set him off, the foreclosure epedemic, young actors Heidi and Spencer going to Iraq, (and I added, us having to know about it), all of the people losing their jobs at Wachovia, probably that video with our current president being a comedian on a drunken tirade. I don't know which story set him off.

Then he added as a possibility, "Is it speculation or manipulaton?" Like these are the two 'people' who were running our nation.

American Tax Payers Are You Asleep?

Wed Jul 23, 2008 at 06:20:03 AM PDT

Are you watching how your tax dollars are being used by the Federal government.  Do you think it's furthering the cause of the wonderful concept of "GLOBALIZATION", and if so what is a normal everyday  American citizen's role in globalization?  To finance it?

FOCUS ALL THINGS MIDDLE EAST AT OUR PERIL

Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 08:10:04 AM PDT

This is America.  We've got some real problems right here in America.  This morning Wachovia Bank announces 9 bln loss and the layoff from btw 6000 and 11000 employees.  Where are they gonna go?  Those two GSE's Freddie and Fannie, Mr. Paulson is calling on the American people to bail them out to the tune of 25bln.  I read in the news this morning that there is 1.3 trillion in foreign debt tied up in these two entities, primarily Russia and China.  Supposedly, 1 in ten mortgages is foreign owned. Can't get a figure on the total debt yet, think its between 3-5 trillion.

And finally, a headline reads, that  GE is teaming up with Ahbu Dhabi investors to go and hunt out gems of opportunity in the Middle East.

Messing with Context?

Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 08:19:51 AM PDT

Why are CNN and many other media outlets, choosing VP mates for Barack Obama, interviewing ‘their potential target candidate’ only to find out that that person wasn’t interested, OR WAS,  then proceed to write something strong about what they created, tested and discovered (their little experiment),  then throw that possibility out there to the masses for poll purposes.  Yet all the while making it seem as if these potential candidates they choose are someone Barack Obama would choose.

My 2 cents on the New yorker Cover Art

Mon Jul 14, 2008 at 11:06:00 AM PDT

It is amazing, how the officials who are doing the dirt in this country, somehow get overlooked, and in their place those of a more innocent nature are maligned publicly.

Can someone tell me why?

Wed Jul 09, 2008 at 06:34:10 AM PDT

In the International Herald Tribune, there is an article titled, Obama donors aren't rushing to aid Clinton.

Unity?(Time for these words to be retired)

Sun Jul 06, 2008 at 09:01:53 PM PDT

This one is about those Clinton supporters that are dissatisfied with Obama.  i'm fascinated with this tireless group of people.  Who are they?
Are they all fully assembled and meet regularly somewhere?  If so, why?
Perhaps the use of this group name in a media story still keeps Obama on trial, even though he's already won the democratic nomination.

He Lied (But the Worst of it is)

Sat Jul 05, 2008 at 09:57:05 AM PDT

as it looks now, he won't even be punished.  Stories about President Nixon's indiscretions, which may have paved the way to today, end with a pardoned impeachment.  But his crimes are nothing compared with this man we have in power today.

Message from Ron Paul

I got this message in my email this morning.  I wanted to share:

I like this man's core beliefs.

Watch out for words in this campaign (they'll trip you up)

Mon Jun 30, 2008 at 09:45:22 PM PDT

Today's, 'truth squad', or yesterday's, Swift boat veterans for truth.  Lot of words.  Why the categorization?  Are there categories for truth?

Surrogate -  what's that?  an evil henchman?

McCain 'slams' Obama or vice versa?  Slams?  Are they in fisticuffs?

Unity - I didn't feel it.

There were more before, worse than these, but i don't want to bring up old campaign memories.

Strategy-He's Black

Wed Jun 25, 2008 at 12:32:13 PM PDT

The only real fight I am seeing all over the media, brought to Obama is,

YOU ARE BLACK BUDDY.  EVERYBODY SEE BARACK OBAMA.  HE'S BLACK.  YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS RIGHT?  YOU KNOW HE DOESN'T BELONG HERE RIGHT, BECAUSE HE'S BLACK.  HERE'S A FEW STORIES AND SOME PROOF OF WHAT HE'S DONE, THAT WILL PROVE TO YOU THAT HE IS BLACK.  YOU MIGHT THINK HE'S NOT, TALKING WHITE AND ALL BUT HE IS.  HE'S BLACK YALL.  ASK BRITISH OFFICIALS, THEY AGREE HE'S BAD FOR BRITAIN CAUSE WELL, HE'S BLACK.  HE MAY TALK LIKE US WHITE PEOPLE,

Catch-22

Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 04:40:27 PM PDT

I'm sitting her listening to Michael Eric Dyson and Pat Buchannan discuss Barack's catch 22 where the Muslim population is concerned in this country.  I don't know all that they said in detail because my washing machine is too loud to catch every word.  But my question remains, in a land where we have freedom of religion, what is the problem?

Politics

Sun Jun 22, 2008 at 11:59:33 AM PDT

The news of the day is designed to put us in an uproar over Obama's earlier campaign positions.  How he has 'flip flopped'on NAFTA and public campaign financing.  But Obama on either occasion never wrote in stone what he would do.  All he did was express his dismay at the lopsidedness of NAFTA and the negative affects America has faced since it's been in place.  He never said he'd abolish it.  He just said he's actually read it and would tweak it to put America in a more equitable position.  Obama also never said he unequivocally would rule for public camaign finance.  He said he was in favor of it and would revisit it if he were the nominee, with his opponent.

So Funny because everyone is so serious this week

The Repetition of History

Wed Jun 18, 2008 at 06:35:57 AM PDT

Because things happen over and over again, and are never new, but seem new to some because perhaps compulsory education is letting them down or dumbing them down.

Education is the antidote

Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 07:32:37 PM PDT

for all of this overemphasis on non issues, mispeaks, pandering, and low information category rhetoric, we can't seem to tear ourselves away from because it's become daily sport to read and watch the news for information on the campaign trails.

The experiential kind though, so one doesn't fool himself.  Woe to the person who continually fools himself anyway.
