Political Cartoons for Swift Boat Truth

Mon Aug 30, 2004 at 03:14:06 PM PDT

As the Not-So-Swift Boat Veterans for Not-Really-The-Truth battle dies out, I check in with my social barometer, the political cartoonists. In case you have never seen it, Daryl Cagle's page on Slate is a quick source for many cartoons on one particular topic.

They can be cynical, and even go overboard sometimes (see Swift Boat VC for Bush!) But cartoonists usually find their way to the truth. In this instance, nearly all of them saw this campaign for what it was.

My favorite, thanks to John Sherffius
We had nothing to do with it!  Really!

And one to bring us all back on topic, thanks to Bruce Plante, Chattanooga Times Free Press
