In a NYT article titled 'Big Donors Are a Major Force in Obama Campaign' by Michael Luo and Christopher Drew our liberal media cleverly takes a fact or two about the nature of Obama's donor base and makes those facts appear sinister. By the title alone we're warned that the piece will challenge the grassroots nature of Obama's fund raising and 'prove' that his campaign is no different than that of his opponent, and Hillary for that matter. Here's fact-twist number one, quoted from the article:
Thank goodness for the superficial, vapid nature of cable news With the overwhelmingly important demise of Anna Nichole Smith, the Pelosi and Edwards faux news stories are headed for the trash bin.
I well remember Tricky Dick, well, he's gone now and deserves some respect, so let's make that Crafty Richard, and how he took the wind out of the Dems anti-war sails so long ago with his 'Peace is Just Around the Corner' and the Light at the End of the Tunnel BS. It's happening again...
UN inspectors just called Bullshit on the latest US 'intelligence' regarding Iran's nuclear capabilities in what is becomming a re-run of the path to the Iraq War. Here's the link, a snippet follows:
I don't think it's a coincidence that our second favorite moose, Bullwinkle being the first, vents his spleen within minutes of Lamont polling a double-digit lead over Holy Joe. Here's the link for those with a strong stomach: http://bullmooseblogger.blogspot.com/...
While it repeats the usual MSM bullshit talking points, 'angry bloggers', 'Joe haters', battle for the soul of the party, it also points out that these items are far from the whole story and there's some very interesting stuff here that may be unknown to those not exposed to the CT media market.
The Moose-Bag is equating the SwiftBoating of Kerry with our refusal to consider Joe a Liberal:
"Now the left is engaged in a swiftboating of Joe Lieberman. It is an attempt to falsely portray him as right wing Bush supporter. It is a vile lie. The truth is that Joe Lieberman is in the mainstream of a Democratic Party that could become a majority party. But does that party exist anymore?"
I've been following the Abramoff story with great interest like most here, but until now wouldn't know him if he walked into my office and offered me a bribe.
I'm not one to buy the theory that Bush/Cheney will not survive in office until the natural end of the term, but this administration is deader than any Lame Duck presidency in my voting life of 33 years. The key element, missed by the MSM, is that the American public has figured out these incompetent crooks and that perception will be impossible to change.
The End Game for PlameGate seems pretty obvious to me given the known tendencies of the the players in charge in DC these days. Does anyone here really think that W won't pardon those tangled in this web, PROVIDED THEY FALL ON THEIR SWORDS AND DON'T CAUSE FURTHER DAMAGE?
This is a Red part of a Blue state with a significant percentage of Bible Thumpers in the population. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
In yet another ham-handed attempt at political intimidation, the IRS is after the NAACP for alleged violations of the rules concerning tax exempt entities and candidate support.
Quote - The Internal Revenue Service has begun reviewing the tax-exempt status of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, citing concerns over a speech given by its chairman, Julian Bond, at its annual convention last July in Philadelphia.
I'm baffled. Is this administration TRYING to motivate the African-American community? What members of their base would be more inclined to support them based on this? Is this just a payback for the Dems questioning the tax status of churches that provided member roles to BushCo for voter recruitment? Wouldn't it have been better to await a GOP 'victory' next Tues. before acting? OR... could this be some mid-level civil servant of the leftie persuasion triggering this now knowing it would work against the GOP? I hope that last one is right. It's good to have the gremilns on your side!
I have to think that this steady drip-drip-drip of bad news which is keeping the bastard administration on the defensive is more than just good luck for our side. Bush has pissed off so many people, in the Pentagon, in the CIA, among the puppets he's installed, in the press corps and it's payback time. Bush needs to attack, Rove wants to even if circumstances didn't call for it, but any message they want to get out will have to compete with the almost visible disintegration taking place in the campaign. I can physically feel the 'aura of inevitability' as Rove calls it sliding over to Kerry. Today, it is rumored, a Fla. poll was surpressed because it showed too big a tilt to Kerry. Big media cites whichever poll keeps the race tighter, switching from one to another. They're only interest is in drawing viewers/readers and a runaway contest is boring. Many in America will be surprised at the ease of Kerry's win.
