Anyone live in Phoenix? I need HELP!
Wed Feb 07, 2007 at 02:21:31 PM PDT
I'm sorry to use up space with a diary like this, but I really need some help.
I received a call on Monday informing me that my brother was at the Maricopa Medical Center. He's been having small strokes for the past two years and they finally have rendered him pretty much helpless. His short term memory is gone and they don't expect him to get it back. It took them 6 days before they could find a number for me, because he remembered he had a sister, but couldn't remember my number. I still don't know exactly how they found how to get in touch with me.
TAKE A BREAK: Holiday Troll House Cookie Exchange
Sun Nov 26, 2006 at 10:35:06 AM PDT
Now that Thanksgiving is over, I need to start focusing on the Christmas Cookie Assembly Line. While I have my list of delectable delights chosen for this year, I like to collect recipes, for future projects. Since I don't think I'm unique, I know there are others out there who like to do the same, so I thought we could have a sort of DKos Troll House Cookie Exchange.

I couldn't find anything on tv that seemed good, until I remembered that Tim Russert was moderating the debate between Kathrine Harris and Bill Nelson on MSNBC tonight.
URGENT: PA Dems: Green Party Petition Reviewers Needed
Fri Aug 11, 2006 at 03:25:29 PM PDT
I searched and didn't find any mention of this shout out for help. I also hope I didn't overplay the
Urgent part of the title. ;-)
Just about everyone knows this story by now, but here's a short recap:
When Sen. Rick Santorum (R., Pa.) encouraged everyone in state politics to help the Green Party earn a spot on the November ballot, at least one group answered the call: Santorum donors.
Fourteen Santorum supporters gave $40,000 to fund a petition drive that has allowed Carl Romanelli to collect about 100,000 voter signatures to qualify for the Senate race. That's 33,000 more signatures than required, and double what independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader gathered here in 2004.
Now, Bailey Childers, DNC Regional Field Organizer, is asking for help.
Sometimes ,You Just Have To Get Off The Merry-Go-Round
Thu Jul 13, 2006 at 12:27:31 PM PDT
I'm a little hesitant to write about this conversation I had last night, mainly because I fear seeing unkind comments being made about my friend; I'll call him Jordan (in fact all names in this saga have been changed to protect the innocent ;-)). Jordan is one of my oldest, and will always be one of my dearest, friends, but he can be infuriating.

Also, please be kind to our dial-up friends and don't post too many pictures. Of course, the kiss picture is a must!

Now, I'm just going to adding a few words to get this thing to post. Anyone watching Noron's coverage, instead of CSPAN's? Ned's opening statement was so much better than Joe's. "Senator Lieberman, if you won't challenge the President's agenda, I will." That's what I'm talkin' about!
Interrogation Tactics Will Not Be Classified
Tue Jun 13, 2006 at 11:02:13 PM PDT
I didn't see this diaried anywhere. I'm going to bed in about an hour, so, if I need to delete, let me know soon.
From the AP (emphasis added in all blockquotes is mine),
Pentagon Won't Hide Interrogation Tactics
By LOLITA C. BALDOR
Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Under pressure from Congress, the Pentagon has dropped plans to keep some interrogation techniques secret by putting them in a classified section of a military manual, defense officials said Tuesday.
Two senior officials said there will not be a classified section in the long-awaited revision of the Army Field Manual. One of the officials said descriptions of interrogation techniques initially planned for the classified section are either being made public or are being eliminated as tactics that can be used against prisoners.

Britain Defies America. Women's lives mean more.
Sun Feb 05, 2006 at 10:32:28 PM PDT
I don't usually do diaries, but this article caught my eye and I didn't see it posted and I didn't see it in the tag search I did. I'll be up for a couple of hours, if someone else has diaried this, please let me know and I'll delete.
In Monday's Guardian, Sarah Boseley writes that Britain, for the sake of women's lives, is about to break Bush's "global gag" on abortion information. All I can say is, "It's about damned time!"
More on the flip.

LIVE THREAD: Pay No Attention To That Bush Before The Camera
Sun Dec 18, 2005 at 05:56:04 PM PDT
I don't know why I've decided to watch this speech, especially when I was having so much fun baking Christmas cookies. But, here I am waiting for this criminal we call our President to force himself into the living rooms of millions of Americans to try and convince us all that he's the best thing to happen to us, since sliced bread. He'll tell us he did the right thing in Iraq, he'd do it again, we must stay until we achieve victroy (whatever that is), blah, blah, woof, woof. I guess the question is, will he mention the NSA and his own omnipotence?
I'm wondering, if at the end of this speech, I'll feel as if I've just witnessed a really bad attempt to try and imitate a successful Las Vegas illusionist, or if I'll be on my knees praying for help to make it through the next three years being subjected to the humiliation that he and his cronies are the ones in charge. Somehow I think it will be the latter.

Chertoff to answer your questions
Thu Sep 01, 2005 at 12:24:13 PM PDT
I know this isn't proper diary material, but I wanted people to see it. I have to go back to work until about 5:00 PM, but when I get back I'll delete it.
This should be good. Chertoff is the "guest" on Ask the White House today at four. The forum is described as
an online interactive forum where you can submit questions to Bush administration officials and friends of the White House.
If you click on the above link, you can submit your questions. It'll be interesting to see which questions they choose to answer.

Get the popcorn out kids. It's almost time for the show.
I'm not sure how good I'll be at keeping up with this. I'll bellow for help if it gets to be too much for me to take.
The only rules, I believe, are to recommend so we can keep the thread visible and do not post pictures, because it slows the load time.
